Some taxi driver was telling me that a guy in the States is identifying as an 8 year old to escape prosecution. It's not a bad idea!

School slammed for asking pupils to pick from 42 pronouns including 'zie' and 've'.

A school in Derbyshire is asking its new intake of 11-year-old pupils to choose their gender and has handed out a list of 42 possible pronoun options. Parents looking to send their children to New Mills School in Derbyshire were sent an admissions form which allowed children to request to be referred to as zie, zim, zir, zis, zieself, as well as ve ver, vis, vers and verself, amongst others.

One 52-year-old, whose son wants to go to the New Mills school told the Sun: "It is just so bizarre.

"I don't even know what these mean - I'm not convinced anyone does!

"Children don't just need this kind of thing."

The Dad added that the children being presented with the vast list of pronoun options are at a "tender age".

He said, rather than making them confront complex issues around sex and gender, parents just want their kids to remain kids.

He added that the whole episode has undermined the reputation of the school, as parents now don't take it seriously as an institution.

I think what was outrageous was a teacher telling a student they were disgusting or despicable or something like that for questioning the idea of a student identifying as a cat. I mean well done you have just destroyed that young persons confidence critical thinking and self esteem the long term damage to the future of that student will likely be significant and have a detrimental effect for the rest of their life.

Of course it's wrong to say what the teacher said, in a modern day vacuum. However, if you are asking someone to be open minded enough to accept that someone who is obviously a homo sapien wants to be recognised as a feline then you should also be open minded enough to accept that the teacher, who was likely raised before this was a possibility, and in an age where such a thing would be utterly shocking, might be disgusted.
