Morning.
The usual brief Saturday run-through, Golf & Choir today. (yes, Choir....) Don't ask.
Following the trend all week, numbers were sprightly last night, with the £8k Main making £9,580, & Reload peeping it's head above £2,000, a real rarity. Even MidEx made £1,660.
The highlight was the last Vegas Freeroll, which attracted 123 hopefuls, & I must say it was a very entertaining FT, with outdraws galore. After a lengthy HU battle victory and a Vegas package eventually went to @Zakkbets with both @Spike4000 (2nd) & @superslo (3rd) getting a bit unlucky. Zakkbets was mid stages chippie, then dropped down the field only to stake a spirited comeback. I don't really know the player at all, except to say he only joined Sky Poker 3 weeks ago & most of his 40 MTT's were Freerolls, which suggests he must play cash to earn the points. Daresay I'll get to know him better 4 weeks today as we stand at the Palazzo Hotel check-in desk.
In the Main, after 13 years here @bungle72 enjoyed his best ever result. Couple of months ago he won a Sharpshooter Main, & I vaguely recall meeting him at SPT Luton about a decade ago. In 2nd was @Curt360x27 who is an ex SPT Vegas champ & will be there again this year as he won a package in Week 4 of Elim Freeroll promo. @wineli & @chrisdonkb were 4th & 5th, so it was a tough old FT. 6th was @Shrimpy28 who always reminds me of a slightly tubbier but less funny version of James Corden.
@PICKLE33 is in grand form, on Friday he took down the 9 @ 9, last night he followed up with top spot in Avenger Mini with @gez_bear, who had been AWOL for a week, in 2nd.
Fresh from winning Wednesday's Mega, @BaBaYaGa00 added BWBH to his CV. He then stayed on site playing £50 HU Speeds all night, finishing with a 6 streak of wins, which is quite something. 2nd was @do67 who is quietly carving a good reputation here, in 2023 he has won BWBH twice & Summit once. In 3rd was Mr Channing @NChanning. Little tip for you here, if you want to start him off, just say "Clerk of the Course, Ascot" & you'll be guaranteed an epic rant. Trust me. Boring Bloke was 4th - hope you are well Matt - @peiratis88 5th & another Vegas-bound regular in 6th, @Granite89.
The developing story of newbie @norbert04 continues apace. Last night he won Turbo, satted in to BWBH, & won a £40 HU Speed. Played just 15 games now & has made the FT in around half of them. Results include 1st in Turbo, 2nd in a Main, 6th in Mega, 4th in Turbo & 3rd in Sheriff.
@spearsy136 had a banging night. Won Reload, won a £150 BH, 5th in the £500 Mega, 6th in the £1k Rebuy BH, & 5th in a £500 BH.
