I'm working for Newcastle under lyme Council as a sub contractor working in Tennanted and empty houses there are thousands of properties with asbestos floor tiles under foot that people don't even know are there it's a major problem when we find them the asbestos team has to remove them causing angst with Tennants who have to move out while the work is being done, it's a problem in the older houses that were built in the 40s and 50s If this is happening in a small borough like N-u-L where else is it happening

I used to work for a roofing company in the mid to late 70s. Asbestos tiles were often specified for walkways on flat roofs. I recall seeing guys regularly cutting hundreds of them in the yard behind the offices. When I first started there, they werent even wearing masks, though this changed later. A friend of mines Father died from asbestosis. He worked for an asbestos roofing company for many years.
