It's funny (and a good thing) that this story has backfired on The Sun. Naming and shaming in the UK when a crime hasn't been committed needs to stop, along with cancel culture. The irony that the people leading cancel culture describe themselves as liberals shouldn't be lost.

I just dont get it, sure the sun should not be one to virtue signal but lets face it those who virtue signal the loudest are often the worst themselves.

All that been said its highly immoral and an outright abuse of power but people will stand by the BBC no matter what.

If we want the real truth, the real truth is that this whole political correctness is just another tool to use to filter out undesirables. If your in the right crowd you can get away with anything and your misdoings can and will be white washed. if your in the wrong crowd your minor most nothing discrepancies will be blown up to maximum proportions.

I have seen the extremes of this both in real life personal experiences and in the media on different public figures.
I could give examples of personal experiences but probably best not a public forum.

What I will say is the vast vast vast majority of people are not good or evil they amoral sociopaths. They are capable of and willing to do or back the most evil things to look like a decent person. There are very few who would risk looking bad to do the right thing.

for me illegal or not abusing ones power to exploit a vulnerable young person is highly inappropriate and one should not maintain such a position once they have done this.

I try to reframe from politics its rare that anything good comes from it. Just sometimes I cant help myself. I guess I do care. I admit I have been wrong many times before and likely am/ will be going forward. All that been said one thing I can at least say is I believe in Utilitarianism and have always come at it from utilitarian principles. Which is better then those with no principles.
