I've no idea what renters are doing at the moment. The three bed next to me is going for 1800 per month, up from 1300 in the course of a year. The professional guy and his wife could no longer afford to stay there with their two kids.

They wont ever be able to afford to give up work.

yeah I think this relates to much bigger issues, that been said retirement wont just become a thing of the past for many people it will be a thing of the past for the vast vast vast majority of people. Which is a shame considering this is likely the only live we get that the majority of it will be expected to be working.
