If it was a casual game then I probably would to be honest, unless I hated the opponent . Obviously isn't our fault but probably wouldn't feel great winning a big pot like that off some due to an honest, albeit very lax, mistake.
Like Stokey says though, should've been more careful - couldn't turn over his cards quick enough!
I don't think I have ever seen it, so would be very lucky to get a refund unless he was the table fish. I did once call down with a straight on a board that hit the flush on the river. Not only did he have the flush, but it turns out I had something like 76432xy. I didn't get a refund, but did just muck in embarrassment. Maybe I missed a trick?
Interesting spot. I think you have to suck it up as the 64o guy. The precedent it could set would not be good and lead to tons of angle shooting. Or calling with the nut low to see what villain had, knowing that you'll get a refund.
In an alternate world, if 64o guy had check raised turn and bombed river to force a fold from QQ, would he have given the money back? Of course not.
The only time I would, consider refunding is in a home game with mates. Even then, I might give half back or half to charity. And let's face it, if 64o guy was a known gangster, you would have to think long and hard about not refunding.

$14,300-no
Did someting similar at Genting Stoke pre Covid when I misread A 4 as A A and lost the lot, about £400, with what I thought was the top boat.
No sympathy.
