End of an Era

It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the following.
As many of the readers of this thread will be aware I have been streaming my poker journey on the streets of SkyPoker, Stars and Party over the past couple of years to an enthusiastic and select audience, regularly chatting about the vagaries of poker, Emley AFC, Villa, Willow and other such interesting topics. Last night it had got to the point of the evening where I was single tabling the last two tables of The Mini and the audience had dipped from a high of 12 viewers to the usual stalwart couple when suddenly the Twitch system stopped working for no apparent reason.
I have since received email confirmation from the Twitch police to tell me that my Twitch account is indefinitely suspended. I have received no notification as to the reason for this and immediately appealed the decision through their appeal channels, explaining that I have no idea what I have supposedly done wrong. I have since received notification that the appeal has been rejected and the indefinite suspension will be upheld. I am still oblivious to the reasons and genuinely have no idea. I am sure anyone who has visited the channel will be able to validate that there is no obvious reason for this decision.
What this does mean is that I will no longer be able to stream but just wanted to take this opportunity to thank all the viewers and contributors from the Sky streets. I have thoroughly enjoyed streaming to you all and hope you also got some enjoyment and entertainment from it. Special shout outs to Daz (@JACKDAW), Ash (@Asho28), Sue (TVSpice), @thedazzman, @MAXALLY, @PKRPar, @waller02 and all the other Sky players who have made the experience so enjoyable. My poker nights will never be quite the same again.
Maybe one day we will be allowed to return to the Twitch streets but in the meantime good luck and say hello when you see me on the tables.
Might have to re-introduce the 'Return of 68Trebor diary' We will see.

Sorry to hear this Rob. I thought your streams were the most friendly & relaxed streams I ever watched, and never saw any malice or other bad vibes to any of your viewers or the players you were playing.

Please continue with your diary, when you can.

That's terrible, especially as they have given you no reason. Very sad.

Big yes to the return of the Diary though.

    @68Trebor

I've asked around, & someone asked if you'd been playing background music? They are very strict on music copyrights I gather. Could it be that? However, I'm also told that for copyright violations you get 2 or 3 strikes & e-Mail warnings, did you get any written warnings?

To be honest I did think it could be this but was under the impression that as long as you didn’t record the streams there was not an issue and like you say it is normal policy to receive at least 1 emailed warning which I did not.
    Thanks for asking though

Hi @68Trebor sorry to hear this.

With copyright music it was usually a 3 strikes and you're out rule, unless they have changed this?

I received a copyright warning via email when I streamed but I got round this by changing a setting on my obs so music was played on live streams but not on my VODS.

Seems very unlucky to be caught whilst live streaming and odd not to have received a warning beforehand, unless you've been banned for some other reason. Either way it's pretty poor of Twitch to give no reason whatsoever. I imagine if you want to stream again then you can do by opening a new Twitch account?

Any chance you could move onto "Kick"? Have heard of other streamers going there - not a big poker following there atm it seems but could be an option.

Or YouTube, you probably would get more viewers than you did on twitch.

This is what I originally did as well.
I had live music when streaming but had changed the settings so I did not have VOD’s available.
Only thing I can think of is that during an update the settings were changed back.
Just find it annoying that there was no warning or they won’t explain why.

FFS I enjoyed watching your stream last night (until the other half came into the front room and insisted that we put the telly on) and vowed to watch more often. A YouTube stream might be an idea but definitely bring the diary back, please.

Sorry to hear this Rob. Really enjoyed your streams and the football talk. Doesn’t seem right that they haven’t explained the reasoning for suspending the account. As others have suggested, hopefully we can get you streaming on YouTube or something.

Nice to see the diary making a return, shall look forward to reading that.

Sorry to hear this. Watched last night and subscribed. Strange no reason given.
