Have been invested in Brand's journey in recent years having grown up seeing the promiscuous male chauvinist celebrated in the papers for such behaviour which lets be honest the lad culture in the 00s was horrendous but normalised (im 32 so as a teenager grew up with the sun, news of the world lads mags etc as my guidance media wise) to a man recovering from addiction and trying to take responsiblity for actions that were wrong in his younger years and showing a willingness to apologise and try to make amends as much as is possible years down the lines for his wrongdoings. He cultivated a following i believe because of his willingness to tackle these subjects and be honest and transparent around his own struggles to grow as a person which many people (especially young men) resonated with as it was not common to see a man be vulnerable in such a way and still isn't but it is improving gradually, seeing a man who was abused when he was young, a slave to drink drugs and sex try to heal himself and become better and share this journey and talk about subjects such as going to therapy and through the 12 step programme, battling the demons of his past to find a new way of living settled down with a family outside of the world he previously existed in (hollywood, mainstream media etc) is why this is provoking such a polarised view in society at the moment. Those who slander him and claim he is just a horrible person and has cynically cultivated a cult following for the day these accusations came out plainly haven't taken any interest in understanding the person he is now compared to 15 years ago and how that journey has itself been documented in the public eye. The use of language and mental imagery conjured up within the documentary to demonise him and ensure any of the public who were indifferent or had no previous opinion or knowledge would come out 100% with the view he is a monster. The lack of any kind of balance in regards to providing context into how society was generally 15-20 years ago and a fair representation of brand across the entire time period felt dissappointing and makes it easy for those with extreme views against mainstream media to jump on the agenda narrative which is a net negative result from a macro perspective imo.

The issue of victims of sexual assault and the type of accusations made against brand happening via the media are understandable given that victims are currently being let down by society and the justice system and this leads to the extreme measures whereby the law route is neglected and public shaming and accusations via the media is seen as the answer, which i can fully understand and empathise with if its a choice between not being heard at all or being heard this way then it's what our society has forced to happen as a whole with our neglect towards finding a way to succesfully tackle these issues correctly. Overall this issue needs to be really re thought out by people in positions of power to ensure that trial by public opinion isn't the answer. I don't believe a scenario where just by accusations a man can have his entire life torn apart is the right way forward and will lead to huge issues moving forward, thats not to say i believe that russel brand is innocent or that he doesn't deserve to go to jail if he is guilty of such crimes but to not even have the chance for a fair trial before his and his familys life are completely turned upside down and he is deemed a monster sets a dangerous precadent moving forward whereby you're guilty by public opinion as opposed to the law. I do understand the potential argument from women and victims point of view that if its a choice between them being unheard or repeatbly let down or a potentially innocent man having his life destroyed then its a price that has to be paid for things to change, i would hope society as a whole would strive for better though.

Anyone who did manage to read all of that im curious as to whether you believe in this scenario its correct before a trial of any kind that its ok to have his youtube demonetised, shows cancelled, pub he owns closed, family having to worry about security at home etc without having even been charged or had the chance of a trial.

It's the world we live in , Facebook , Twitter , Reality TV , so called influencers , people are obsessed with the media , you can't be suprised if life is played out in the papers or TV before all the facts come out.

The lad culture has always been there , ah was a teenager in the 70s and ah also grew up with the Sun , NOTW , page 3 , smutty mags , smutty telly , and then there was the videos , but ah knew what was right and what was wrong.

Feel sorry for his family , but if he has done all these things , he just has himself to blame.

Would be interesting to hear his accusers views in what punishment they would like bestowed upon him (if found guilty) or if they are looking for financial compensation.

Brand's BBC shame: Woman claims comedian exposed himself to her before laughing about it on his Radio 2 show as audio emerges of him joking about a 16-year-old's 'sex' party and 'catching girls' with Tim Westwood

The woman, named as Olivia, claims she worked in a building that also hosted the BBC's Los Angeles office in 2008, where the comedian (pictured in LA in 2008) is said to have pre-recorded an edition of his BBC Radio 2 programme on June 16 that year. She said that she answered the door to Brand and his team before going to the bathroom to get some medication - and claims that Brand followed her into the room before making lewd remarks and exposing himself. The programme, which went out five days later, featured a clip of Brand and co-host Matt Morgan appearing to joke about the encounter, with Morgan noting: 'It's been 25 minutes since he showed his willy to a lady.'

Congratulations Russell Brand you have levelled up and are now a martyr.

The next stage is tapping into the weak mindsets of the conspiracy theorists for financial profit.

Yes big Pharma and political corruption are there in plain sight we know its there, its not a secret conspiracy where anyone who mentions it will be silenced.

'Send me your money whilst you are still a free person' is the scam here.

How Russell Brand tried to silence his critics - using feminist Meghan's favourite lawyer: For years the comedian has been intimidating accusers and threatening the media with the help of expensive attack dog lawyers

How Russell Brand tried to silence his critics - using feminist Meghan's favourite lawyer:
Comedian Russell Brand previously hired a top lawyer to threaten people, one of the most high-profile defamation specialists of our times: Jenny Afia. A partner at Schillings, the combative law firm whose clients have ranged from Roman Abramovich and Elton John to the family of Captain Tom Moore, Afia is perhaps best known for her work on behalf the noted feminist Meghan Markle. She featured as an interviewee in both Prince Harry's recent Netflix documentary and 2021's BBC show The Princes And The Press, in which she told host Amol Rajan that allegations suggesting the Duchess was a 'difficult or demanding boss' were 'just not true' and that the term bullying should in no circumstances be applied to her royal client's behaviour.

    Yup.

And once he wheeled out all the "deep State" nonsense, you just know he's lost the plot.

Russell Brand befriended a heroin addict for a 'depraved' TV documentary and offered him £50 so he could sleep with his prostitute girlfriend - while the couple's toddler roamed the house in scenes so shocking social services were called

EXCLUSIVE: The Mail on Sunday can reveal social services were called after Brand spent a week living with the couple and their toddler daughter at their Norwich home before making his sordid proposal, which was rejected. At times during filming, Brand's sidekick Matt Morgan was left to look after the couple's child because everyone else in the house was high on drugs. Brand was still a heroin addict himself at the time and later admitted 'using with them [the couple] the whole time we were making the programme'. The Mail on Sunday has learned that the boss of the company behind the programme, which never aired, called social services after being shown the disturbing footage.

Russell Brand was grilled by cops NINE years ago over accusation he sexually assaulted masseuse - as the comedian's old school asks 'victims' to come forward amid fresh claims he groped girls

Russell Brand was reportedly questioned by police in 2014 over claims he sexually assaulted a masseuse after she was hired to give him a £500 birthday massage. The alleged victim reportedly told police she was 'touched in a sexual way' by Brand, 48, at a £5million mansion in Oxfordshire, which she said traumatised her. The allegations, reported by The Sun on Sunday, are the first known instance of the comedian being interviewed by police over sexual assault allegations.

It's interesting to notice that on a few occasions Jonathon Ross has had his image portrayed alongside that of Brand during this. I bet Donny Tourette, Noel Fielding and Vernon Kay are keeping a mega low profile.

Certainly they all seemed to hang around the same core group when younger. Oh wait was that the group that included the teenage Geldof daughters. Yes that's the one.

If I was Ross and my image appeared during the reporting of this I'd be suing the media to the point of bankruptcy.

I think that the media have constantly replayed the Andrew Sachs incident over the last couple of weeks, which Jonathan Ross was an integral part of.

Ex-BBC boss who championed Russell Brand and then lost her job over Sachsgate is released from a confidentiality agreement so she can reveal ALL about what she knew of the under-fire star's behaviour

Ex-Radio 2 controller Lesley Douglas has reportedly been freed from a confidentiality agreement so her role in the scandal can be examined. A BBC insider told the Sunday Times that director general Tim Davie 'will want her to have to answer questions, because the buck stopped with Lesley.' Davie's predecessor Sir Mark Thompson will also be quizzed about what he knew after it emerged that he reassured MPs that Brand's show was not 'an accident waiting to happen' during an appearance before the culture, media and sport committee shortly after Sachsgate.
