good ole klaus and a few of his mates , billy g , tedros the terrorist to name afew , pleae go sort it golden , will be a lot of very grateful people about
Either Rishi Sunak is incredibly stupid. Or he believes the electorate are.
Yesterday he announced that various targets are to be kicked further into the long grass. For example, that the ban on the sale of traditional cars is to be pushed back from 2030 to 2035.
I lack the in-depth knowledge to know whether these changes are good or bad. What staggers me is that he is claiming he is "absolutely not" slowing down efforts to tackle climate change.
Of course he is. He can claim these changes are desirable, even that they provide benefit. What he cannot do is try and claim he is not slowing down climate change. Unless, for example, he expects us to believe that 2035 is closer than 2030.
This is not a man organising change for the future. This is a man organising his legacy, and his place in UK political history. Knowing that his political future doesn't extend to 2025, never mind 2030 or 2035.
The last Tory Leader/PM was removed without ever fighting an election. The 3 before that were removed immediately after winning an election. What future does a Tory PM have when he gets humiliated at the next election?
The British public are no longer in control of who gets elected.
There is no credible alternative to vote for.
We should start a go fund me campaign here on the Forum to pay for Haysie or Phil's election nomination fee to get elected and put the Country & World too right.
Net Zero is the process of balancing out ones carbon footprint so that the effect on the environment is neutral, nothing, zilch, nada.
Simple example I exhale carbon dioxide I must plant a tree to counter my emissions
Britain is responsible for 1% of the Worlds carbon emissions.
Anything we do won't make an iota of difference. India isn't going to stop it's industrial growth, neither is China, Korea, Latin American Nations or the ex Soviet Countries.
It's a bit like the kids collecting tin cans for recycling, it's a sop to our conscience, makes a nice story and does naff all to the end result.
As usual there's billions being made off the back of Green, C.N, and environmentally friendly products and systems.
Here's a sobering thought. If every motorist in Britain had an electric vehicle there would need to be a charging point every 10 metres. That's without busses, lorries oh and what about aircraft.
Mind you I suppose nuclear powered boats and planes is an option cause like that's good for the planet.

What !
Simply because no-one seems to agree on what Net Zero actually is...
