Maine is not used to homicides, they have a relatively low crime rate, but this looks dreadful. The shooter has yet to be captured.
The killer was described as a "firearms instructor with a history of mental health problems". Guess the clues are all right there.

Although I am not sure that this would make a real difference, as guns seem so easy to acquire on the black market.
