Immigration: How British Politics Failed, review: who’s to blame for the small boat crisis?

Tony Blair is everywhere these days, isn’t he? The BBC gave him a primetime interview slot to plug his new book. He popped up on Sunday in a Channel 4 documentary about the shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes. And here he is in Immigration: How British Politics Failed (BBC Two), defending his legacy yet again. “The idea that we had some sort of open-door immigration policy,” he scoffed, “is absolute nonsense.” His critics think otherwise.

That's what happens when you employ people as detectives who have never done any Police work.

    Not only that.
I dont think the police have kept abreast of technology.
They seemed content to send numerous officers, some armed, to both addresses repeatedly, including pulling officers off other crimes, on wild goose chases, for weeks.
Yet when the tech guy, who obviously knew what he was doing, got hold of his phone, it was all over.
    The end.

The other thing that struck me as really stupid was that the officer that was supposedly an expert in stalking, sat there and said the stats were four out of five stalkers cant stop.
    They carry on regardless.
Then proceeded to the bail the guy.
Why would you bail someone who is bang to rights, and going to prison, on that basis?

Just watched this and was astounded when they gave him bail, if the crime had escalated whilst he was on bail and something serious happened to the woman, then we'd get the usual response of 'We will hold an inquiry as to what went wrong'. In my view he is a danger to women and any future women he is in a relationship with and should be forced (somehow) to disclose his convictions to them.

They made the point that most stalkers are lunatics, just before they bailed him.
He got nearly 4 years, so they knew he was going to jail anyway.
What was the point of bailing him?
He was a lunatic, there were 121,000 messages on his phone, 80,000 were either to or from Megan.
They had been together 2 years.
What sane person thinks that sending their girlfriend death threats, is likely to get them back?
