No one expects the villian to rock up with K2 sooted there
I certainly didnt, but there you go.
Maybe a better player could have got away from it.
The two was obviously a threat, as were the three hearts that were on the board, when the turn dropped. Although I did have the ace of hearts. If I could have found a fold on the turn, I still had 265,000 behind, and would have been still in second. I bet the pot to discourage him, in case he was still drawing.
I still had 16 outs on the river, so it was a shame to miss all of them.
@HAYSIE , Flopped set and SF and NF draw on the turn, aint nobody ever folding here.
On to the next one.
I am not disagreeing. I am not good enough to have folded. I just snap called his shove, without really thinking about it. I bet the pot, post turn. His response was to shove. So at this point, what would you think he was playing? There is 4 to a straight on the board. Also if he is holding two hearts he has hit a flush. Does his shove mean he has hit one of them? I suppose he could have a smaller set. What other hand is he shoving with? I would be doubtful of a massive bluff, he is probably putting me on at least a pair of aces.
I remember @Tikay10 preaching on the telly in the old days. He used to say that if you bet to find out where you are, and a huge mountain of chips come over the top. that is usually your answer.
I have never folded a set of aces, and dont suppose I will anytime soon.

I just had a look at the odds calculator. I was 84% preflop. 85% post flop. Still 43% post turn. He was only 52% after hitting the straight. 4.5% for a split pot. So it was close to a flip on the river.

How well did youu play to get to the final table ? Thats the biggie, one hand kills our dreams but you must have crushed some souls to get to that point. And enuff ££ to take her indoors to Tenerife for a few days must have come in handy.
