This bumper streaming package gives you Sky TV, Netflix and the excellent Sky Cinema to watch via your included Sky Stream box. Crucially, this means subscribers will be able to watch Elf this Christmas (or Top Gun: Maverick – whatever drives your sleigh). As a nice bonus, this bundle gives you two free Vue cinema tickets per month and a Paramount+ subscription at no extra cost.
Sky Stream, Sky Sports, Sky TV & Netflix - from £46/month
Sky Sports is a big investment, but we dare say it might be worth it, if you'd like to watch your sport without running a gauntlet of YouTube ads, or trawling through dodgy streaming sites to find the highlights. This deal gives you a supreme selection of Sky Sports channels, plus the essential Sky Stream setup with Sky TV, Netflix, and the Sky Stream box.
Sky Stream vs Sky Q
One key difference between the Sky Stream box and Sky Q is that it doesn't have space to store programme recordings. Instead, you can add content to playlists, as you would be able to on many streaming services, and have the option to restart live TV as well.
In the absence of a satellite dish, content comes to your screen over WiFi as with Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV+ and the rest.
The box comes with a voice remote and opens up the Sky Glass user interface — which, as is often highlighted in TV ads for that product, brings all your streaming services and apps together on one screen.
Sky Stream add-ons
At the time of writing, extras are priced as follows, with some differences based on whether you have chosen a 31-day rolling contract or an 18-month contract:
• Sky Cinema (now including content from Paramount+ and two free Vue cinema tickets per month): £13/month (31-day rolling contract) or £11/month (18-month contract)
• Sky Sports: £22/month (31-day rolling contract) or £20/month (18-month contract) (usually £27/£25 per month)
• TNT Sports (formerly BT Sport): £28/month for £18 months (usually £30 per month)
• Sky Kids £6/month (31-day rolling contract)
• Whole Home Pack: Get up to five additional Sky Stream Pucks for £12/month (31-day rolling contract).
Each new box has a setup fee as outlined above – although, on occasion, Sky may offer customers their first additional device for free.
