Buying a couple of new bikes might have been a much more suitable option?

Colin and Cristopher returned to the scene while officers were still there and they were arrested.

Both men’s homes were searched and firearm accessories, a spent 0.4 inch calibre cartridge, a lock knife and a taser were found.

Forensic examination of the vehicles located gunshot residue and a spent ammunition casing which had traces of Colin Nourse’s DNA.

Detectives later recovered a handgun used in the shooting that had been discarded under a car in Penge.

On Wednesday (December 20) Christopher was jailed for 30 years and Colin for 14 years.

Everyone at the retirement home opposite who witnessed the events were given 2 year suspended prison sentences.

The bike thieves were awarded CBE's under the new justice system.

Although in those days there didnt seem to be very many attempted assassinations over a bit of bike robbing.

Coral Bingo Hall and Social Club, Penge High Street, SE20, probably in the early 1980s. The venue started life as an Odeon Cinema, which opened in 1937 with seating for over fifteen hundred people. The cinema closed in 1976 and was immediately converted to house a bingo hall. Coral took over in 1978, and lasted for 12 years before closing. During most of its years of operation the bingo hall was popular with locals, had regular clientele and a community feel. How many books could you or yours play at once?? Did my Auntie have the record at 5?😊. The building was demolished in 1994, and a pub, The Moon and Stars, built in its place. 💡💡💡 If you have any photos outside or inside the Bingo Hall, or memories of attending the bingo, please do share. 🔹 Liking the name of the driving school displayed on top of the car on the right ‘CONFIDENCE’....branding is everything ☺️ #pengehistory #coralbingopenge #bromleyhistory #pengehighstreet.
