made a mistake with a satellite

hi,
i know this is my own fault, but thought it worth asking anyway.
played in an early sat for the 6pm semi. Won a ticket to the semi at 6pm.
I stupidly then had to go out and was going to be late, so didn't want blinded out and deregistered from the semi.
I was able to make it back home to then register late, but had to pay for entry fee. I wondered if i emailed someone would i get a credit? or am i just a dumb ****?
