Live events

I love playing here in the comfort of my snug, knowing if I get knocked out early I can join another tourney or play some cash games or just go to bed. However, the idea of a live Sky Poker event does have some appeal, but my worry is that if I book travel tickets and hotel for 3 nights but I only last a half hour, then what do I do? Many people might think like that, so what else is there to do outside the Main Event: side events i.e. cash, other smaller tourneys. Seasoned campaigners might help please. Ta

You can buy in multiple times but that would be very expensive so up to you if you can afford it or not, but you can try to win multiple seats online each night.

I have never seen a life tournament anywhere where there was not also cash games on the side. however these are usually targeted by full time cash game sharks who dont go to play the tourney but just come for the cash games hoping to nab some tournement players who busted early, So again unless your very competent at cash games or can afford to lose quite a bit its not really viable.

There is a reason most people play mostly online I can afford downswings of a few hundred but not several grand, there is no way of playing life regularly that does not come with that risk.
you dont see live games for £5/£10 buyin etc.

@HUGHMANS I'm not local to Brighton but i'm sure there is plenty to do outside the casino, might be worth having a look at an alternative just in case you bust early. There is also likely to be 10+ sky players around who usually accumulate around the bar and sit and drink together, I'm sure Tikay would be happy to point people out if you haven't been introduced. Always a good time with the sky lot.

In terms of poker they don't typically run a side tournament but other casinos in town potentially do. There will also be cash games at the venue that are pretty popular, stakes will depend on how busy it is I guess. Despite what doubleme said above, the standard on the cash tables is usually pretty low and a good way to pass the time if you've bust early. Hope that helps

Plenty to do in Brighton and quite a bit near the Casino at the Marina.

Hollywood Bowl next door, Cinema across the road, Wetherspoons across the road too.
In town there's LOADS of bars.....several with Live Music, as well as another Casino near the Pier

At the Rendezvous Casino there is this Poker Schedule every weekend too......

GOOD LUCK...... hope to see you there :)
