"Decent traffic last night, though worth noting it's likely to be quiet tonight with Liverpool v Everton on TV.
We saw a sensational result in the Major where the winner was @TNO. Until last night, he had played 19 MTT's this month, of which 16 were Freerolls, as he plays the Rewards Freeroll & Sunday Major Freeroll almost nightly, and nothing else, earning his points on the DYM tables. In fact he won his Major seat in the Sunday Major Freeroll on Thursday. Has been here 14 years, & played 11,000 games, of which 3,700 were MTT's. A deep dive into the archives tells us he was very handy back in the day, with his biggest previous cash being 3rd in a 2013 £10k UKOPS for around £2,000. In 2012 he won a £5,000 Rebuy Open, followed a few months later by top spot in a £10k BH. For sure, the bulk of his winning form in MTT's was between 2009 & 2013. And it was not as if it was a soft FT last night, as he was followed home by @seikus@AlexaAJ@SoLack& @jordz16 who all know the time of day. Fabulous result, well done @TNO.
The trend of old school winners continued in the Mini, where victory went to @wynne1938 who is, I believe, 85 years old. Imagine that, old school rules in both Major & Mini. Back in the day charts, GTO, blockers & all that nonsense had not been heard of, & people played the game by instinct, gut feel & "reads", not by what some chart told them. 2nd in the Mini was @StayOrGowho then went on to win Sheriff to complete a solid week. @seikus was 6th, & as he was 2nd in the Major, picked up a £200 FTJ Bonus.
We have barely seen big-hitter @newdaddy this month but he showed up last night & took down the £5k BH from what was a decent FT with the obvious exception of @Shrimpy28. To be fair to the Big Fella, he made 3 FT's last night - 4th in the £5k BH, 6th in 7 @ 7 & 4th in 9 @ 9. The miracles of variance, right there.
6 of the last 8 MTT's that @craftycarp has played were Freerolls, but he invested £5.50 in the £1k BH & got the lot with an impressive 22 head prizes. @Asho28 was freerolling the Main & Mini & they came to nothing, but even so he had a very good night, 3rd in this, 4th in the Rebuy BH, plus a brace of wins in £300 & £150 BH's.
@neenio won 7 @ 7 for the 2nd time in 5 nights & was 5th in 9 @ 9 which he has also won this month.
@letemspin- won the 9 @ 9 at the end of January & has barely been seen since but he showed up last night & promptly won it again.
@bossquaid took the MidEx, I've lost count of how many times he's won that but I'm sure he's into double figures.
There's an argument for saying that last night's toughest FT was Quickdraw, & it was @Dooobs who prevailed from a purler of a FT packed full of big-hitters.
Finally, in the SPT Semi, seats went to @Essexphil & @mumsie, which I was delighted to see as they are both so important to our Forum. These sats only started on Friday, & @Essexphilhas already won 2 (Friday & Sunday), & he never played on Saturday".
There was quite a buzz on the site last night with mostly solid numbers. The £6k Main made a healthy £7k & the £1k MidEx fell 1 entry short of double the guarantee. On the flip side, that new £400 PLO did terribly, just 19 entries & 6 rebuys. A £150 overlay on a £400 guarantee is just not sustainable imo. Sad but true.
Quote a surprise in the Main as @kernow28 takes the top spot. Just 8 MTT's in the last 2 years, & this was their first MTT since November. Only prior thread mention was 7th in a Sunday Major all the way back in January '22. In 2nd place was @Ironpump1 who seems to play MTT's in snatches despite which he does OK. From very low volume he's already won a Mega & a £1k BH this year. Jumps back & forth between Cash & MTT's I suspect, & seems to do well in both. In 4th was @Dingle1234who won a recent Sheriff & seems to do well in the Sunday Major Freeroll.
@AdamSD91 1-tabled the Mini & took the win. Previous form includes a UKOPS & a MidEx. In 5th & making his 2nd FT in a matter of days was @Jac35. Played just 2 MTT's finishing 13/110 & 5/457, alongside which he had a big & successful DYM session which included an eleven Streak I believe. @Brrrrrrr was 6th, he played 2 other MTT's running 8/78 & 17/245 so Pete's running into form by the look of it.
There were two more surprises in Reload & Turbo, with@TamLtaking the former & @W1B the latter.
In the Quickdraw I was very pleased to see @DOHHHHHHH take the win, I much miss his forum presence. He's a cash game player really (or was), & in fact this was his 3rd best result all time, & best since 2017. There's life in the old @DOHHHHHHH yet.
24 hours after taking down the Mini, @mysteryreg was in the winner's enclosure again, this time for the new £500 BH.
The rise & rise of @NOSTRIcontinues apace. Played just 3 MTT's, winning two of them (£1k BH & MidEx) and finishing 4th in the £1k Rebuy BH. The Rebuy BH also saw @mumsie continue his improvement, finishing 5th. He has a big win in him I think, already this year he's made the FT of the Mini 4 times, finishing 4th, 4th, 5th & 6th.
@claudel9had another decent night making three FT's -6th in the £1k BH, 2nd in 7 @ 7 & 5th in 9 @ 9.
@belropechimed in with a win too, taking down the 7 @ 7.
@Snowski is more than able at both 4 card Omaha formats & he ran out the winner of the PLO. He's amongst the better players in the nightly PLO8 too. 4th was @NChanningfollowing his 2nd place last week, plus of course those back-to-back wins in the High-Low version. He seems able to adapt to most formats with ease.
The chat box in the nightly £200 PLO8 can get salty to say the least, which is all a bit sad imo, but it would have been a lot better last night, with a 1-2 of @weecheez1 & @tomgoodun, not forgetting @HENDRIK62 in 6th place.
The SPT Brighton satellites did well again, with @Woz08 & @Brebion getting seats, & @hitchslaptaking £150 in cash for 3rd. All 3 of them appear to have logged on specifically to win seats for Brighton.
That's it for today, a veritable feast of football, golf & NFL await.
