"The Main went to @Climwinner who has plenty of winning form in Mains & Minis, & did exceptionally well in 2020. Played just 3 MTT's last night, winning two of them, a £200 BH plus the Main, but missing out in the Mini. 2 out if 3 ain't bad though. 2nd was @glencoelad, easily his best result on Sky Poker in 2023.
@Upswing won the Mini. He's not on Sharky, & I can't find any MTT history for him, though I do believe he plays a fair bit of cash.
Re-appearing in December after being absent for 2 years, @JammThis took BWBH. Won two big Mains a few weeks apart in 2018 before going under the radar. SPT Vegas champ @roddy28was runner-up.
The consistent @THETANK won 9 @ 9 earlier this week, & then last night won Mega. Remarkably, he's won Mega three times this month, on the 7th, 20th & 24th. Impressive binkage.
@Bailiffman evicted everyone in the 7 @ 7, think it's the first time he's won that one, though he has winning form in Minis & Megas.
There was a nice little win double for @neenio, who took the Rebuy BH then followed up with a late night £300 BH.
@GREGSTER had already won Reload & Quickdraw this year, & completed the hat-trick last night with a Reload win. Has some valuable scores on his CV, including a Sharpshooter Main, a UKOPS Mini & "Super Mini" (£10k guarantee) in 2018, which I am struggling to recall.
@David_J_W who won the Rebuy BH last week popped up with victory in MidEx.
The 19.18 PLO8 attracts some decent 4 card players & to win it twice in 4 nights is quite something, so well done @Enut. Good day for him yesterday, as I think he's a bit of a tennis fan, & would have been celebrating the remarkable performance by Andy Murray in Qatar, who saved 5 match points on the way to the Final.
SPT regular @HANSON won his 2nd Brighton seat last night."
After a really poor set of numbers on Wednesday, we saw the rebound last night with decent traffic right across the board, and just two small bits of overlay.
In the Main, @BBORU7prevailed. Low volume - taken him almost 18 months to play his last 100 MTT's - but does very well. Highlights include wins in two UKOPS (a High Roller & a Mini), a Summit, a BWBH, an £8k BH, & three regular Mains. Never won a Major (yet) though, best effort was 2nd nearly 5 years ago. Runner-up @PokaBayb9 is another with a stellar CV, & despite relatively thin volume has some great wins, including a UKOPS HR, a UKOPS Main, a Major & a BWBH. @Morris707 was third, & he had plenty of FT action, as he also won a £500 BH & a £400 BH, won his Main event seat in a satellite, & ran 3rd in another £500 BH. That's one high class Main Event podium.
In his 12th year here, @ash066pts was playing just his 3rd MTT of 2024 but it never stopped him winning the Mini for about the 4th time. CV includes wins in a UKOPS, two Summits & three Mains.
Just 19 entries & 3 rebuys for Sheriff but it was a slam-dunk for the evening's toughest FT. Last man standing was @Jscorgie & 2nd to 6th respectively fell to @NChanning@ILIKE2FISH@cabbaz@loololollo & @PowerPok3r. Fancy having to beat that lot to win a 19 runner MTT.
@jet_jo has played almost 2,000 MTT's without troubling the judges much but on Wednesday ran 6th in the Mini & last night had their first big win by taking 9 @ 9.
From just three MTT's played last night @4kingboss did tremendously well, winning Reload, 6th in the Mini & 7th in a £400 BH.
@zootcame up dry after playing three satellites (two to Mega, 1 to Main) but regged for the Mega (& nothing else) anyway & got the win.
@wynne1938 may have set some sort of record when winning the Rebuy BH, as I believe he's in his late eighties. Have we ever had an older winner here?
Ignore what he says, I believe @Ironpump1 loves MTT's & took last night's 7 @ 7. On Tuesday he won the £1k BH, he won a Mega this time last month & ran 2nd in a Sharpshooter Main 12 days ago. Best ever score was 1st in a 2021 boomlet Major which was worth around £4,500 to him.
A sensational performance by @cal98521 who won the 18.30 £1k BH for the 2nd straight night. With over 200 runners each night, that's some achievement.
In the weekly £400 PLO8 @countycame out best. I used to find him infuriatingly difficult to play against, one of those players who seems to do everything wrong, but quite clearly knows exactly what he's doing. Love to see these "quirky" players do well. Runner-up @Essexphil knows his way round a PLO8 table, so I'd be interested to hear how he managed to cope with County bloke. Kudos to@235467 who finished 4th in this & 3rd in the smaller, nightly £200 guaranteed version an hour earlier.
Two seats to Brighton were won, one by SPT regular @karlluke & the other by @Wingles who got into the Semi via a £3 All-In sat. @Wingles only signed up to Sky Poker on Tuesday so that's a great start.
That's it for today. Leeds United v Leicester City on TV tonight, num num num.
Thought I would provide a bit of context in the PLO8 final table.
I had a lovely position on the final table. @county was on my right. Fond of a min-raise. Consequently, I was fond of a fold or a 3-bet. Mixture of good play and luck (rather more of the latter) saw me get to heads up with an 11-1 chip lead.
Whereupon a mixture of bad play and luck (again, rather more of the latter) saw me **** defeat from the jaws of victory
Funnily enough, the day before saw me go heads up with an 11-1 chip disadvantage and win...
