So this one has been bothering me because I have seen enough news headlines on it and need some context to make a judgement.
The headlines are implying that someones benifits will be stopped after 12 months if they do not procur employment, some people jump on and say this is well warrented whilst others seem to be implying this is appaling.
Firstly different areas and different people are different obviously and it can be very difficult for some individuals to procur employment. If someone is doing everything they reasonably can to procur employment but they just are not successful then leaving them as crimminals is a bit much.
I say crimminals because the Tories want to send people to prison for been homeless.
on top of that forcing someone to maintain a job where they are sexually haressed racially abused or just bullied is not ideal. Now whilst some people say you can sue for this sure but its one persons word against another and how do courts establish the facts?
Now if you have someone who just simply has not made a reasonable effort to look for work and has turned down not one or two but multiple jobs then it would be hard to argue that their benifits should have been cut before the 12 month mark.
If the tories are simply saying that once someone has been on benifits for 12 months and has not procured employment thats it they are crimminals no ifs buts or exceptions or etc then yes that is immoral.
Around ST4 there are several huge warehousing concerns. Amazon, Pets at Home, Sainsburys, GXO, Screwfix, Dunelm, DeeSet, XPO, Samworth Brothers, APC and others. They all have jobs available but they are not real jobs, why is that?
Because they are all farmed to agencies to fill. Crappy min wage, zero hours contract, no benefits, no rights, agency bullsht. Shutting down of non specialist agencies would mean that businesses have to EMPLOY staff, that's a real job.
Not that any of this complete horse **** will matter because The Tories are going to get smashed at the polling booths. I actually asked my local MP what he's going to do for a job when he gets ousted. Strangely he seemed amused by my thoughts that Labour might win.
