Several other restaurants claim 'family who walked out without paying' have done the same to them
There are claims that a group who walked out of a Swansea restaurant without paying a £329 bill have done the same at other restaurants in south Wales.
Furious customers step in to stop 'dine and dash couple' at south Essex pub
“It quickly got heated between customers and the couple, customers got involved and tried to stop them leaving for over an hour until the police got here, it sounds like they are known to them, but they were let go.”
Rise in 'dine and dash' customers blamed on police 'not taking action' An expert has told Yahoo News UK that 'dine and dash' cases are on the rise as restaurants feel police 'don't take the crime seriously'
And now she's been "struck off", & quite right too.
There are a few things that struck me. I didnt think you could order through Just Eat without paying by card, prior to placing your order. I am surprised the takeaway were prepared to deliver, without an upfront payment. This usually leads to any number of hoax calls. She knew exactly what she was doing, as she had a previous. You wouldnt have thought she would have been skint. She had plenty of opportunity to redress the situation. She now has a criminal record which is unlikely to make finding another job any easier. The £100 worth of food ended up costing her around £6,400 as well as her profession, not a very cunning plan.
Her whole career - which would have taken years of training to qualify for - down the drain for the sake of paying for two meals. (Or not paying, as the case appears to be).
How long does it take to qualify to be a Solicitor? Must be 3, 4, maybe 5 years? @Essexphil will likely know.
It beggars belief that she thought there would be no consequences for her actions. Even had this been a misunderstanding she had ample opportunities to make it right.
Was it a sense of entitlement or just plain stubbornness to admit she'd been a total idiot or thinking that somehow she was above the law.
I always feel sad when I see people destroy their careers and possibly their lives in such a petty and avoidable way.

Traditional route?
1. 3 or 4 year Law Degree, or Degree in another subject and 1 year postgraduate law course 2. 1 year LPC (or now the new SQE 3. 2 years training contract
There are quicker ways-but typically 6 years
Cannot understand why this woman chose to have a picture of her appearing to be a Barrister.
We can all make mistakes. Not all Criminal Offences should stop someone being a Solicitor.
But offences involving deliberate dishonesty, such as Fraud?
Just saw a BBC report on the man coming out of court who is confronted by the reporter, I tried uploading it but for some reason it wouldn't upload here.
