Tethering with Smarty Mobile/3mobile

Has anyone had issues when tethering from smarty mobile/3mobile. even though its a good connection it causes skypoker to log me out and close all tables. I dont have any adult restrictions on it and never had a problem when tethering from o2 although a weaker connection. Cheers

    I tether from Three on my mobile when my Sky Broadband goes down, which isn't often.

    And my Three signal keeps everything up and running.

    I intend to buy a smarty sim for a month deal to see how it goes.

    If it works out ill be ditching Sky Broadband and going with a Smarty sim as my Three signal is excellent where I live.

    Im a bit concerned about you getting logged out tho.

    have you tried changing how you connect to your device, with the usb cable or bluetooth?

    i used to tether a lot and had problems when using bluetooth on my old laptop........ sky and stars worked fine for me on o2 and lebara (i think thats what it was) last time i used it......

    i know sky dont let you connect when you are using a vpn, so maybe they have some security software that is confusing your internet mobile with some kinda vpn............ can you access sky and play it just on your moble device?

    few years ago i was looking for a new mobile and one of the companies (i think it was 3) offered unlimited data, but had restrictions on tethering..........

    @mumsie @greenbeer yep no solution to the problem it crashes on the interface and also on the web version. they're live chat is no use. I'm wondering if its something to do with vpn. Any idea how i'd go about altering this? Cheers

    @gobbleoff I have the same issue with 3, whether hotspotting or just playing on my phone, it logs me out every couple of minutes (doesn’t close any tables though)

    @gobbleoff i am not sure sorry...... if i had the handset in my hand i would be more helpful probably......i would defo be looking into my internet settings, on an iphone i would start in settings - general settings - VPN&device management, checking that a VPN was not connected, then i would hop into - mobile services, find the sky app and make sure skypoker had full access to the web........ and if i couldnt find anything that looked wrong i would reset the phone to factory settings and start fresh.......

    i would also make sure my phone never had any antivirus software like mcafee running, some of those have built in vpns.

    it defo sounds like some kinda VPN issue, but impossible to know. hopefully someone who has had this issue will appear and give you the fix.

    ps. try playing directly on your mobile device with out tethered connected, if it works on your device then the issue is not a vpn on your phone, it is how your computer communicates with your mobile device.
