@The_Reflex I wanted opinions before escalating it further. Whatever is said in this chat won't determine a verdict the Sky team would make.. So what good would support by other players do? This is my first time ever attempting this promo, and like I said I'm not 100% on the specific rules of chip passing. In my first initial post I asked for opinions, as from my perspective it's cheating.
@Bertie283 I wanted to say what Groggy said, but felt like I had already made my point... If you were 'curious' you just message sky support or Tikay. You don't question this publicly, because even if you're not accusing John (which seems unlikely considering some of the words and phrases you have chosen) you're still wrongly bringing his reputation into question.
Hopefully your initial perspective of these actions as 'cheating' have changed after listening to some of these comments, from several people who have played 100,000+ DYM's and competed in several leaderboard challenges. It's not cheating, it's +EV legal strategy.
@The_Reflex I was merely asking for people's opinions. I've not posted in here before, and didn't realise think about the etiquette before posting. If I'm incorrect about the chip passing, and it's within the rules, I'm more than happy to openly apologise to John and move on from it. And more so congratulate him on winning a package most likely. Like I said, this is my first time ever competing for a package, and seeing these dynamics play out.
@Bertie283 Chance would be a fine thing, just don't have the time like I used to! Might give it a go on the last week but I won't be playing too much so I will have to run seriously well. Cheers
At least you will have learnt the Strategy to help win a VEGA$ Package for this week, and I'm presuming John will have won his package, and you won't have to worry about him ......
......just all the players who have learnt the Strategy too
1. Why do I play multiple satellites to try to win a vegas seat?
It's not just about the cash-though it helps- it's about reducing the number of participants in the next level.....the more I win means one less person to beat to win and move forward.
I'm lucky enough to be in the final next Sunday, so this week I will spend my time trying to get as many qtr/semi seats as possible so I reduce the No of competitors in the final, if I can!
Gamesmanship? Not in my book, just math!
2. Do I steal blinds of absent players?
Yes...not if they have disconnected temporarily, No of course not but if they haven't turned up..........no different from the last 4 in a sit n go checking down the absent player until the last 3 to win the money
3. Would I do what John Monty has done to try to ensure I won the seat?
Absolutely! I didn't even think about or know how to do this until it was alleged - as long as it wasn't colluding with other players re: the chip dumping... it's a competition!
4. Trying to knock the other player out to ruin his no of bounties ?
That's what I was trying to do in the eliminator if I was ever on a table with someone who had more bounties than me( and more importantly I would expect them to do it to me! And I'll try and do it again this week!)
So
Good luck to all in their quest to win a seat- If donkey @MISTY4ME can bink a seat, anyone can! 💩💩💩
These are the behaviours of a colluding player/cheat. Im sure skypoker do not have a way to detect if hes personal friends with the opponents hes chip dumping too, but a standard investigation on other sites would involve checking the hands in question and if they are very very clear call or shove spots with premiums then the player would be banned.
Pokerstars use to run dyms and the chinese cheated so frequently with the plays the op mentions that after banning so many players they just decided to no longer offer the games.
Imo this is no longer poker when a player decides who wins and loses

You cannot run a promotion that incentivises players to deviate from optimal strategy in individual games and then punish them for adjusting correctly. If what John did is not allowed the only DYM promo sky can ever run again is entirely volume based ones, in which case nobody outside of Timmy, John and BFF and one other will ever win a package. Also your suggestion of punishing players missing clear call and shove spots is laughable. Might as well ban all the fish and remove the format from the lobby if that's going to be the approach.
so little confused are the updated leaderboards this live? I mean usually stuff just comes out the next day usually after 4pm for leaderboards which woulld make it very unpractical to manipulate things the ways been discussed are the leaderboards been updated half hourly or something here?
Also when will we find out the sky poker teams conclusion on this argument? I mean I always like things to be clear on what is and is not allowed, as I would not want to be done for something but also would not want to be operating at a disadvantage when others use exploits I do not.
Thanks for everyones contributions to this thread. I have looked through the gameplay and in my opinion this falls under advanced strategy and is not cheating/collusion. I don't believe this was 2 players working together but rather John trying to end a competitor's streak at the expense of his own chipstack. Players are free to play each hand as they wish if they are working alone.
What would constitute collision would be 2 or more players deliberately registering in the same games repeatedly and soft playing and chip dumping to keep each other in the game.
Also if a player is deliberately being chip dumped towards by an accomplice to aid their streak then this is unfair and the player will be disqualified.
Hadn’t seen anything of this nature from @johnmonty well done on winning package. Interesting points raised @Bertie283 If I’m suddenly sat out of a game late it isn’t strategic it’s likely I’ve fallen asleep 🤣💤lost a streak to falling asleep last week
The problem is not the player but the promo.....you achieve a streak then try and defend it by any means....truly depends to what end the player will go to to defend the streak. Is it open to collusion.. **** yeah.

The hands id be most interested in is when hes sat out. That would usually be when he is holding the aa/kk/qq. Bertie should ask about those hh.
It certainly wouldn’t make someone a cheat,
Is it open to collusion.. **** yeah.
