"The sun is shining, it's Saturday, so just a quick review today.
@TONY509 took the Main for the 2nd time in 6 weeks. Was 14/366 in the Mini, so a bit of a FTJ sweat. Must have won just about everything, Majors included, in his 16 years here & I imagine has always been a profitable MTT-er. Don't think he plays Cash, or only very rarely. @Super_Oliwas 2nd in this, & repeated the trick in Quickdraw.
In the Mini, @KingPower did the 6 week double too, last time was a Sharpshooter. 2nd was @Swog, which saved his evening, as he bricked everything else.
BWBH made £5,900, with @johnny_e coming out on top. Got in by winning a £5.20 feeder then the £24 semi & parlayed it up to over £1,700. Nice. 17,000 games at an ABI of £30 & a 10% ROI is pretty solid. A predictably tough FT which included the likes of @SwannLoL@NChanning@loololollo & @Doooobs. In 4th was @Mickey83 who mainly plays £110ers, including 5 of his last 8 games.
@Bensons22 only really started playing MTT's regularly last month & has been ticking along nicely. Won last night's 7 @ 7 & ran 15th in the Main. Was his 2nd 7 @ 7 win too, the first being April 9th.
Congrats go to serial Big Boy @GFKIJKLL who had a lovely double, winning both Turbo & Quickdraw.
Was chuffed to see @pompeynic win the 19.18 BH. A few years ago on the very first night of the Sky Poker Vegas trip, @Essexphil & I decided to show @pompeynic how the local PLO8 MTT's play. Well I was back at my hotel before Midnight, Phil did somewhat better, but Nick did best of all & made a Vegas Final at the first time of asking. Lovely memory."
Decent night for MTT traffic I'd say, the only overlay was £100 in the Turbo, everything else did fine, headed by the £4,000 Main (£4,920), £1,000 Sheriff (£1,750) & £1,000 Quickdraw (£1,720). I suppose the absence of football on TV is helping at the moment, though that will all change big time when the Euros start in a few weeks time. The only irritant really was the Glasgow satellite which failed to run after a spate of late withdrawals.
Winner of the Main was @MRMIAGI named, I assume, after the character in a children's film a few years ago. Been here since the very start - 1st March 2007 - & I had to do a double-take when I saw Sharky suggest he'd only played 273 MTT's in those 17 years, but after a bit of delving it appears to be correct. In fact it was the 2nd time he's won Hitman Main this year, & his third Hitman in total, as he won one last August too. Best result was winning a UKOPS Rebuy. Sharky suggest he has a 52% ROI off an ABI of £33 so that's very decent indeed. I was interested to see @KingKlich in 4th place. Seemingly out of the blue he has suddenly started hitting Main Event FT's for fun - on Monday he was 3rd, on Wednesday 5th & last night 4th. In 5th was @Max_Bear with @podraic 6th. It was, seemingly, a testing night for @NChanning who only played 3 MTT's, finishing 7/139 in the Main, 6/27 in Sheriff & 11/25 in Turbo. I'm sure he'll be fine once he has a bit more experience under his belt. Hopefully he'll be at Glasgow next weekend, & knowing him, he'll have a hotel in Edinburgh & walk back & forth every day.
In the Mini it was a B Night - @BEANIE1st @bongo69 3rd & @brucie1972 in 4th, the sequence messed up by @zzgoose in 2nd. Good to see @bongo69 get a nice result. I'd love to be his poker "mind-coach" for a day. His results would not improve, but he'd enjoy his poker so much more.
After running 2nd in a £300 BH on Wednesday, @mumsieplayed just 2 MTT's last night, finishing 6th in a mid-afternoon £250 BH, then winning the £800 BH, that's the second time in 10 days he's won that. He's really finding his stride now, notably he's won the Mini no less than 3 times, & his Sharky graph is a delight to see, getting ever steeper by the day. His game appears to have improved out of all recognition.
@DeaD_CLowN had an interesting night. Played an All-In Sat for the 9pm Sheriff at 9.02pm, won it, & then went on to win Sheriff itself. Later, he entered MidEx & ran 3rd in that, so from 3 starts, two wins & a 3rd.
Very pleased to see @Airsy84win Reload. That seems to be all he plays, logs on most nights, plays Reload, & that's it. Not his first win in it either, I believe he won it one night late last year.
@handyand28 is mainly a cash-game player but played & won last night's MidEx, just his 8th MTT in almost 3 months.
On Wednesday, @shnox played an MTT for the first time since last July & just his 6th MTT since August 2020. And, yes, you've guessed it, he returned last night, played exactly one MTT (9 @ 9) & won it.
The Big Boys had a few results - @Arrogantwon the Rebuy BH after hitting the woodwork rather too often recently, @hhammerheawon Mega, @Steed432won Turbo & @jessieakwon Quickdraw.
@ToddB took the 7 @ 7, just a week after winning the £800 BH.
After a spate of late withdrawals - 8 I believe - the SPT Glasgow satellite never ran.
The Vegas Quarter ran though, with Semi-Final seats going to @MARBLEFLAW@GunRood1 & @chankie88.@GunRood1 must love his poker, he played right though the night & the early hours, the last game he regged for was at 0420 this morning. @chankie88 seems intent on getting to Vegas & has played the Quarter Final each night for the last 4 nights. Hopefully he'll have a good run in Sunday's Semi Final.
After having a bit of a semi hiatus on the poker front, it’s been a goal of mine to get a mention on this thread which @Tikay10 produces most splendidly, It was close but no cigar in the Megastack ( which I was outplayed from the beginning, but luckily changing my play from raise/fold to shove pre and win when behind almost did the trick 😊
I’m sure I am not the only one who reads this every day without comment, should do better on that front.
The forum needs people to engage , Essexphil, Haysie, Doubleme, Mumsie , Lucy4, Beanie, Goldon ( amongst others) do a fab job of oiling the wheels, and it’s great to see debate on a variety of topics without resorting to personal digs.
TLDR - Thanks to all who post, my love for poker is returning,I’ll try to do better.
Ps - if you haven’t read ‘ Flowers for Algernon ‘ you’re missing out on a wonderful ( heartbreaking ) book which is as true today as the the date it was written.
