Afternoon.
This day last year
"@Natnug has won just about every decent MTT on Sky Poker except the Major, and he righted that omission last night with a fine win. Was 3rd in Sheriff too. @KnoxTrot had his third best result ever in finishing 2nd, with @wineli 3rd & @Swog 5th.
The Mini version went to @DARK4NIGHT which was his best result for 10 years. Usual suspects @TONY509 & @Super_Oli were 3rd & 5th respectively. Must make mention of @NOSTRI who was 6th in this & 13th in the Major, so was pretty close to FTJ cash. Cash bubble boy was @NChanning.
What a week @destinycod has had. Last Sunday he won the Major, & during the week he won Mega & 7 @ 7, was 2nd in Gold Rush Main, was 3rd, 3rd & 4th in Turbos, & then took last night's £5k BH. Fingers crossed we'll see him later this week at SPT Glasgow, for which he won a seat during the week.
@JACKDAW has had a decent few days too, won the Mini on Thursday & the £1k BH last night.
Toughest podium of the night might have been Sheriff, with @PokaBayb9 getting home ahead of @loololollo & Major winner @Natnug.
The Turbo podium was not far behind, with @PKRPar getting the nod ahead of @Steed432 & @tonyp142. We'll certainly have the dubious pleasure of seeing @PKRPar at Glasgow as it's his "local" SPT.
@bossquaid continues to tick along nicely, and took his 3rd featured MTT of the month last night, adding Quickdraw to Mini & Mega already won during May.
The Vegas Semi threw up some interesting qualifiers for the June 11th Final, with seats going to @Ramoerrr @MAXALLY @wineli @ITSQUADSY @MARBLEFLAW & @POKEOFFU. Be really great to see a few of those make the Vegas trip. Seem to recall that @MAXALLY bubbled the Vegas package last year. Am surprised he never mentioned it."

I've no idea if any of you read the daily "This day last year" dubree I post every day, but today's struck me as quite interesting, as there are several similarities with this year.
Sharpshooter Main had it's new seasonally reduced guarantee of £5,000, so whatever way you look at it, a £5,760 prize pool was pretty good. Does reducing a guarantee reduce the number of entrants? Now there's a great question & one to which we can never know the answer really. Anyway, the winner was @daGrinda of whom I know very little, except I do know he won a Predator Main last month, a Mini, the Sunday night £6k BH last October & has won Reload several times. Quite a CV there then, certainly more than I initially thought. Runner-up @zoot collected ~£748 which is a nice return on the £1.80 he invested to win an All-In Sat. Judging by his ABI of £6.52 that's a very big score for Mr Zoot. Has won several Megas & at least one MidEx. @baxter21 was not a million miles off FTJ cash, as he was 3rd in the Main and had a deep run into 36/341 in the Mini.
@rashchoice won the Mini. Has shown glimpses of decent form this month, 6th in 7 @ 7 just 24 hours earlier, & winning a Mega at the beginning of the month.
The puntastic @GunRood1 looks like he's increased his volume significantly & it seems to be paying dividends. Won the £1k Rebuy BH, 2nd in the 19.18 PLO8, won a Sharpshooter "Direct" sat, 2nd in the £500 Mega, 2nd in Reload, 2nd in a £100 Turbo, 2nd in a £100 Rebuy, 5th in a £500 BH, 2nd in a PLO8, 4th in a £300 Turbo, so that's about 10 FT's, then after midnight & up to around 0630 this morning he made EIGHT more FT's. And yes, those early morning jobbies are very small fields, but even so, 18 Final Tables in a single session is going some. Maybe he just gun rood.
Mega went to @bawfizzle who won a lot of big stuff here 10 or 12 years ago, the best of which a televised £10,000 guarantee PRIMO for which he collected £2,800.
The £800 BH fell to @lundie, who later ran 2nd in the Elim Freeroll thing. If we take Sharky numbers at face value, he's now won over £100,000 in Sky Poker MTT's over the years.
There was an alias oddity in Turbo, with 1st place going to @DUTCHESS62 with @Dutchy76 in 4th.
@seikus continues to impress & had a stunning late evening - 2nd in Turbo, 1st in Quickdraw & 1st in MidEx. During that 2 hour spell they also ran 4th in a £500 BH & 2nd in a £300 BH.
SPT Glasgow seats went to @Midas60 & @bromley04. That's good news, as not only will we get to see Adam Bromley in Glasgow, presumably we'll see Natterley too. And maybe they'll have the inside line on the new Burnley Manager too.
We have a Vegas Semi tonight, & in last night's Quarter, seats to it were won by @buzka @blindpoet & @MAXALLY, the last-named who seems to have hit a bit of form, as he made FT's to two £300 BH's, and won all-in sats to both Sheriff & the Vegas Quarter, and then went on to win his seat into tonight's Semi, & that's the 2nd time he's done so this week. Several parallels with today's "This day last year" there... GL to them all tonight in the Semi.
Finally, in the Sunday Major Freeroll, one of my favourite Forum posters @rabdeniro won a seat to the Major for the 2nd time this week. Would love to meet him, as long as he brings along an interpreter.
That's it, I'm done. Monaco GP at 2pm, Leeds - Southampton at 3pm, then the golf. What a time to be alive, eh?
