Love watching Ostapenko on the opening day. I bet she would make a **** of a poker player :)

The second retractable roof means at least we see the biggest stars when the rain is pouring down in Paris.

The 2024 Olympics being played in Paris, it is reasonable to modernise the Roland-Garros stadium; it is why a retractable roof is to be built by 2024 over Court Suzanne-Lenglen, the second biggest court of the stadium.

The greatest clay courter in history will in all probability play his last game today vs Mr Zverev, what a man Rafa was on the court!

I gather he made some comments after the match suggesting he might not be ready to retire yet. I'm not a tennis buff, but what a golden age Tennis has been through with the likes of Nadal, Federer & Djokovic.

Not many tennis fans here as far as I'm aware, though multi-millionaire @Enut still plays I believe, probably even has his own courts in the grounds of his Sussex Estate.

Watched a lot of Norrie's match, atrocious. Kotov looked unfit yet managed to win final 2 sets against Norrie's error after error.

    Yes Tony absolutely B)

He is playing at the Olympics and will see how he fares after that. He actually played to a very very good standard today considering his lack of match time in the past few months vs a very very dangerous opponent in Zverev who I believe is the man to beat this year.

Absolutely superb era and considering all sports - Snooker (Ronnie/Hendry/Williams/Higgins) - Footie(Ronaldo, Messi) etc we have been very very blessed haven't we :)

    Certainly have.

Phil Taylor in Darts is another. I've never been a Darts fan but he was definitely different gravy.

Rafa played well enough to beat most of the players in the draw today, which was great to see, sadly it was an awful draw for him. Understandably it's the most open it's been in years, Zverev, Djoko, Sinner, Alcaraz just to name the four top seeds, all have a good shot, with no stand out favorite for a change.

I don't have much interest in the women's, too much shrieking for my liking!

p.s. Ironically I am suffering from golfer's elbow atm so not playing as much, or as well, as I'd like too. Plus at 58 it gets tougher each year. I'm retiring in 18 months time so may even play a bit of golf then!
