American Stupidity

Sometimes, I think some British people do incredibly stupid things.

But some Americans are still the World leaders.

This is a guy. Who is pleading Not Guilty to a Charge of Driving Without a Valid Licence.
Appearing on a zoom call at a Hearing in front of the Judge. While Driving. Without a Valid Licence.

Priceless

    It's not only Americans...

Job hopeful who turned up drunk for interview with police force arrested on the spot and given a road-ban.

Andrew Jackson, 48, was hoping to land an IT management role role with Greater Manchester Police.

But after staff smelled alcohol on his breath he was breathalysed and found to be over the drink-drive limit.

The interviewer said: “I asked if he had any trouble in finding us, as soon as he began to speak I could smell something on his breath which I was thought was stale alcohol.

“He mentioned that he did have a little trouble in finding somewhere to park, which immediately raised concerns.

“Shortly after he arrived in the small office, the smell of alcohol became overpowering.”

At end of the end of interview at the force’s Sedgely Park training centre, the GMP employee made an excuse to leave the room and sought advice from a police officer on what to do next.

He added: “I didn’t want the man returning to his vehicle, given the obvious smell of alcohol. I couldn’t live with myself if there had been a collision and someone ended up seriously hurt.”

A Traffic Officer was summoned who escorted Jackson out of the building to a nearby patrol car and breathalysed him.

The results from the breath test showed the male was over the legal drink drive limit.

The man, who said he had been out for a meal the night before, was then taken to Bury Police station and tested again for his alcohol level, once the reading was confirmed the male was charged with drink driving.

Last week Jackson, of Didsbury,Manchester pleaded guilty to being in control of a vehicle while over the legal drink driving limit following the incident on January 25.

He was disqualified from holding a driving licence for one year, to be reduced to seven months if successfully completing a drink driving awareness course within in a given time, and was also handed fines totalling £235.00.

It doesn't state whether he got the job or not! Given the recent cases of dishonesty and criminality within the police force it wouldn't surprise me if he did. :)

Ah. That brought back this memory.

Guy goes to Mags Court accused of various Driving offences. Represents himself. Gets a Driving ban.

30 minutes later he is driving. Leaving the Magistrates car park. And rams the self-same Magistrate's car from behind. With the Magistrate in it.

And genuinely wanted to plead Not Guilty to his new Charge of Driving While Disqualified.

His daily "log" reads, got to go to my local "branch" of Autoglass. Lucky for me it's just down the "trunk" road and "leave" it there to be fixed.
