Dont Some Of The Adverts On The Telly Just Get On Your Nerves.

You can escape the ads on anything you have recorded by just fast forwarding through them.
A couple of the most popular apps have just started introducing ads on their channels.
Most apps dont allow any fast forwading while the ads are on.
So you cant escape them on most apps or live TV.

I dont have a big interest in ads, but some really get on my wick.
I suppose you must start twith the premise that companies spend money on TV advertising, some of them millions of pounds, in order to improve their sales, or to create brand awareness.
You have to question the value for money, if everyone was just fast forwarding through them, or saw it as an opportunity to make a cup of tea.
This has made me wonder about particular ads, from time to time, but what do I know.

I have often wondered about ads that are supposed to be funny.
Some really arent.
At least not to me.
Although you may laugh when you see one for the first time.
Maybe the first couple of times.
It wears a bit thin when you have seen it 50 times.
You cant possibly keep laughing at it.

Anyway just to kick this off.
The most recent ad that does my head in, is the Graze ad, with the woman talking through the back of her head.

My 2 big bugbears are these:-

    1. Car ads that show cars with specifications that are not available in the UK. Why bother? Either make an ad with a car we can buy. Or don't bother

    2. Computer games showing supposed game play that is "not actual game footage". What's the point?

I thought one of the Simplisafe ads was quite funny.
Although I dont think it was supposed to be.
It was the one with the security guard that was a midget, investigating the golf ball that was stuck to, and had smashed the patio.
And the golfer who came up with some bullsh1t irrelevant excuse of why he had done it, and expressed a wish to get his own midget security guard, and be protected against other incompetent golfers like him.

What about talking to a dog about your credit rating?

I thought the "crypto only" ad was quite funny when I first saw it.
    Now I just yawn.

I have never bought a product or service because of an advert.

However some advertising really pi55es me off. such as those ads that are obviously too clever because you spend most of the 30 seconds thinking "What is this product". Trying to sell me a beer by showing me waves on a shore or holidays whilst showing queue free airports, deserted beaches, empty pools and quiet restaurants.

    Nah!

Also, I get really annoyed when I see ads for Sky TV whilst watching Sky TV. I already have the full package, I am aware of your programming, STOP trying to foist stuff off on me that I already have you morons.

Agree 100% with @Essexphil about car and gaming ads.

I thought somebody talking out of the back of their head was an advert for @HAYSIE . Only kidding Tony.

Just another excuse to put the boot into Stoke mate.

"Now you're right back in the Med"
    "Although you're in Stoke instead"

Thanks Bold that's another product this household isn't buying.

Sun life pay out on every claim.
    They do life insurance.
How could you get out of paying out a life insurance claim on someone who is dead?

    Lots of reasons...
    Murder
    Suicide
    Missed payments
    Fraud
    High risk hobby
    Death in war
    And last but not least..
    Mistakes on the application...
E.g. Failure to mention medical things from which the person dies..

Obviously none of the above ever happen to Sun Life customers, as they pay out on every claim.
