Falklands War ( @MISTY4ME ) is another great shout. Think I watched every news bulletin on every channel for the entire duration, & I bet I've got 20 or more books about it at home too. Stunning story.
Once you have read some of the other contributions, you want to mention 10, or 15 not 5, because it is so hard to rule any out. I am just going to say 9/11 is my number one choice. Purely because of the scale of it, and the fact that the casualties were at work, and not engaged in a war. And also because when we woke up on the 12th, the world had changed.

I'm not including the World Cup win or landing on the moon as I wasn't really switched on to world events at the time (being only 1 and 4 respectively).
So.....
The Falklands war, remember going into the Physics lab every break and lunchtime to watch the latest news.
The SAS ending the Iranian Embassy seige, thus cementing their legendary status.
The Space Shuttle disaster, the 1986 one, so shocking at the time, it's only when you look into the cause that you realise they were lucky not to have lost one before.
9/11 we were driving back from Hampshire listening to it all unfold on the radio, then I spent the rest of the day watching it all on TV. To this day I'm not convinced that the US airforce didn't shoot down the last plane. I distinctly remember it being tracked by fighter jets on the day, then it suddenly crashed. It may well have been brought down by the heroic attempts of some of the passengers to regain control and that is certainly a much easier story to sell after the event, but I'm not so sure.
Diana's death. Very tragic, remains one for the conspiracy theorists.

What a story that was. I remember it as if it were yesterday. Was watching the World Snooker Final, Alex Higgins v Cliff Thorburn, & THEY CUT IT OFF. Like most, I was initially furious, but once the end of the siege unfolded, it was one of THE great pieces of televised news.
I can't quite put it in my Top 5, but it certainly belongs somewhere.

Hard to believe it was 44 years ago.
Three on your list I simply don't remember experiencing first hand i.e. at the time, so I have a few places to play with. One of the benefits of being young(er)!
Comments

Amazing how we all seem to have little crossover.
Great shout by @rabdeniro to include the O J Simpson palaver, what a story that was. I might have to "drop" John Lennon to make room for OJ.

The attempt to kill Lady Thatcher at The Grand Hotel in Brighton is a good shout, but I've included her in my "Politicians" list.
Incidentally, it never stopped her delivering her speech - right on time - later the same day, looking immaculate as always.
Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II
Aberfan disaster
1966 world Cup
Moon Landing
Princess Diana incident/accident
Apollo 13
9/11
7/7
Falklands War
So I will put it in at 5. and put Thatcher and the Tories being Bombed in the Political List
Ibrox disaster
Munich
Heysel
Bradford Fire
Death of Ayrton Senna

I will come back with the other 4.
