Conditions for online poker remained unfavourable - blistering hot weather, Olympics on TV, folks going away for summer holidays - despite which, the total overlay in the Featured MTT's was just £96. On a semi-related note, the Scottish Premiership football starts this weekend, the Champo starts a week tomorrow & the Premier League season starts in a fortnight, all of which will be on TV. There always seems to be something to stand in the way of poker traffic. Then again, were it not for televised football, maybe Sky Bet as we know it would not even exist. Bit of ying, bit of yang.
@Tastysnack ended July by winning the Main, his 2nd big result of the month, having won Mega on the 9th. His overall stats are very good, with 9 or 10 four-figure cashes, & I noticed an unusual stat - his 6 biggest cashes were all for finishing 2nd. He's been runner-up in the Major 4 times, runner-up in Summit & runner-up in a UKOPS High Roller. I don't think that tells us much other than sometimes we have to be patient & wait for variance to weave it's magic. @Hod4k997 continued his remarkable run of results with a 2nd place, he was also 2nd in 9 @ 9, 3rd in a £300 BH & 4th in a £400 BH. he had a terrific July, which included 2nd & 6th in the Main, 2nd in Reload, 1st & 2nd in 9 @ 9, 1st in Mega, and won MidEx no less than 3 times. That's a decent month I'd say. @Upswingwon his £33 seat in a £1.80 All-In sat, & turned it into £178 for 5th place, which seems like decent business.
@sloppy33 won the Mini. Only joined us in May, & did not show much form initially, but it's all coming together now, 1st in last night's Mini, 3rd in a Mini Major, 5th & 9th in weekday Mains. One for the tracker. @blablabla was 2nd, he also won a £200 Deep Stack & was 3rd in a £300 BH. On the bottom step of the podium was Carl @Mohican who despite low volume has has a few scores in July including 6th in a Sunday Major & 6th in a 9 @ 9.
In Sheriff, @PAPABURGcame out best. Has put in huge volume in July, hard to imagine anyone has played more MTT's & satellites in the month, & seems to have done OK, with a 1-2-3 of £110 events - 1st in BWBH, & 2nd & 3rd in Summits. Also finished 2nd & 4th in weekday Mains.
In 12 years here @SIREZ has not visited the Winner's Enclosure with much regularity, but he came up trumps last night with a fine victory in Quickdraw.
@Vegas2016loves Reload & has twice been 4th in the last few weeks, including 24 hours earlier, & he got the win last night, that's the 2nd time he's won it this year.
Turbo went to @peanutman, who was 4th in BWBH last Friday.
@DEZRAY14 had a busy day. 2nd in a £50 BH that started at 7am, 2nd in a 4pm £200 BH, 1st in the 9pm 9 @ 9, & back on site at 6am this morning to win a £50 BH.
