Morning.
A typical Friday night, with buoyant MTT traffic & some decent prize pools, with the sole & perhaps surprising exception of Reload which suffered a small miss. Of all the MTT's I cover, that's pretty much the last one I'd expect to overlay on a Friday night. Variance affects the sites as well as the players.
In Thursday's write-up I mentioned at length the welcome return of @chicknmelt after an absence of several years, & he won the 9 @ 9 that night having played a few small Tourneys to get his eye in. Well it never took long for him to find his stride, as he was back last night, playing just three of the later affairs (BWBH, Turbo & Quickdraw) & in doing so, won the £110 entry BWBH. Very very impressive to get back in the groove so quickly. As always, that one had a quality FT which included the likes of @peiratis88 (2nd) @cabbaz (4th) & @mattprawn (5th).
The £6,000 Avenger Main cleared £7,000 & it was @AFFMAHEED that triumphed. He's having a good month, this was his third featured win, having won Reload & the £800 BH on successive nights at the beginning of the month. There was a sensational effort to finish 2nd by @chippy102 who has been here 14 years without ever troubling this thread, although to be fair is fairly low volume. Behind the top two it was the usual suspects of @MikeyW94 @SoLack @Sharki0 & @Super_Oli so that underlines how well the top two performed.
In the Mini it was two of Sky Poker's elder statesman who came out best, with the win going to @lyonsbob06 who joined us all the way back in 2007. Runner-up @waller02 joined a year later & has a remarkable record in Avengers, having won the Main 3 times & Mini twice. Both of them seem to have retained all their abilities despite being, I assume, OAP's.
At the other end of the age scale, young @Swifteyyeu had a really good night. I don't actually KNOW he's young, but just assume so by the way he writes. His Friday night haul included wins in both 7 @ 7 & MidEx, 2nd in a £300 BH, 2nd in a £500 BH, 5th in Turbo, & he won a satellite to the £110 BWBH although that never worked out too well, think he was the first to depart. We've all been there. His CV is looking impressive for one so young, as it includes 3 Main Event wins plus a UKOPS win that was worth almost £4,500. If he stays disciplined with bankroll management, he has a lovely poker journey ahead of him.
The £1k Rebuy BH had a ridiculously tough FT for a fiver affair & it was @A_R_K who came out on top. Not a bad day for him, as he also finished top of League 1 in the Sky Poker Prem, so that was another £400. Tough FT for a fiver comp? 2nd to 5th were @loololollo @peiratis88 @Jessieak & @JammyFker. Doubt you'll see a tougher £5 MTT FT tougher than that for a while.
Team Big Boy had their share of success, with wins for @Froozle (£800 BH) @peiratis88 (Mega), @loololollo (9 @ 9), @cabbaz (Turbo) & @loosecamel (Quickdraw).
SPT Manchester seats went to @johnmonty & @EBBERDON both of whom are familiar if somewhat well-worn faces at the SPT's.
The Rewards Freeroll went to the in-form @shad8604
Finally, on as night when Golden Oldies seemed to do well, we saw yet another defy his years when @goldnballz won a seat in the Sunday Major Freeroll.
