And that's despite the "Cost of living crisis".

Same when Taylor Swift was here, she sold out Wembley Stadium 8 (?) times in a row. It was anecdotal I suppose, but it was widely speculated that on average, each fan that attended one of the Taylor Swift concerts (mostly young females I imagine) spent an average of £1,000. (Cost of tickets, travel, hotel, "fancy dress", merchandise & spending money).

    Think about that...

I mean, don't get me wrong, plenty of folks ARE struggling. But plenty are doing just fine. On balance, we've never had it so good.

Sadly, it's bad news & finger pointing that are the current fashion, so the Media only give us one side of the story.

Same applies to "poor pensioners". Some are struggling but most are OK, have a home worth a fortune, & children who can & should look after them. If we have elderly parents, for most of us, giving them the equivalent of the Winter Fuel Allowance once a year (£300?) is no hardship. Just means £300 less we can spend on playing poker or betting on football...

Again, that's not EVERYONE, but I believe it is most. Those that need Government help should get it, but it's not JUST the Government who should help, the families should be first in line to help.

I think the thing that is more concerning is that 14 million, yes 14 million, people think Oasis are worth paying money to listen to. The sort of figures being banded about are the lower end of the amount someone would have to pay ME to make me sit and listen to them for more than a few minutes. Utter Bilge.

    @Enut

    Has, 100% CORRECT.

A pair of absolute low-lifes with zero talent except the ability to mimic The Beatles.

Imagine PAYING to listen to Oasis.

You could not pay me enough to listen to them, let alone watch them.

Ah remember when they played in a tent at the Beach Park in ma home town in 1995, twelve and a hawf quid a ticket, to rich or us, we decided to buy a big carry out and sit on the " Blue Billy " and hear them for nothing, it acted like a amphitheatre, they were alright not worth the dosh they were asking.

The ticket sale was an absolute sh1tshow yesterday. I got a reasonable place in the queue first thing, got to front after 90 mins and like many others were unable to purchase a ticket and was stuck in a "confirming availability" loop on Ticketmaster. At the time I just assumed it was sold out, but it later became apparent that the reason I was unable to book the 150 standing ticket was because Ticketmaster were in the process of ramping the price up to 355. So folk were queueing, blocked from buying while the price increase was happening then sent to back of queue to buy again at the increased price. Disgraceful.

You can imagine, or probably saw, the fall out on social media. Most were blaming Ticketmaster although the artist/promoters have to agree with dynamic pricing so both parties are to blame in equal measure.

I certainly wasn't paying that much to see them. How can you justify more than doubling the cost of an already pretty expensive ticket? The greedy bar stewards still sold out, both the tickets and their fans.

Dynamic pricing just another term for greedy basterds, I've yet to hear the working class brothers coming oot and saying it's unexceptable, they will probably come oot with some shyte after they have filled their pockets from the mugs who buy them.

I had a price I was willing to pay for those tickets and it became very clear that the price the tickets were going to end up costing me would be far in excess of that. I guess its what people are willing to pay.

people are not better off then ever before unless your refferring to the rich. This current economic system results in a very small percentage owning practically everying whilst everyone else lives in absolute destitution. This can currently be seen by anyone who is not blind to reality as already happening.

obviously the proportion of people who are in destitution raises as time goes on and those currently in a good position usually rise with the tide until they are pulled under.

"everyone else lives in absolute destitution."

Bit of the old hyperbole there.

I don't think anyone in the UK lives in absolute destitution. After all we are not currently at war or in fear for our lives.

few things firstly Yes I often speak hyperbolic for my own amusement I think by now most people know this but on this one I am not, I am been literal. The only question really is how long this process takes and whether we will or will not fundementally alter the global economic system before we reach that point.

when you have a system which is based on a ponzi scheme of constant compounding debt it is only a matter of time. It is true that our current economic system has lasted many centuries and this has not happened yet but it is also true that throughout human history we have had exponential population growth and technological progress has grown exponentially as well.

I think this may distort the reality for people, but I do not think it is intellectually reasonable to believe in constant exponential population growth and constant exponential technological growth.

I will concede that logically if we have exponential growth for population and production then so long as the exponential growth exceeds the compounding of the debt this system can be sustainable however I think that is likely very unrealistic.

On a more positive music story announced this morning... :D

Adele announces indefinite break from music: ‘You won’t see me for an incredibly long time’.

Adele has announced that she will be taking an extended break from music when she concludes her Las Vegas residency in November.

Addressing the audience at her final show in Munich on Saturday evening, the singer told fans that she has 10 remaining shows in Vegas, but after that, they won’t see her for “an incredibly long time”.

Adele's £100million Munich residency venue set to become 'the world's first portable stadium' after she finishes month-long tour

Adele's eye-watering £100million Munich residency venue will be put to good use at the end of her month-long tour, which she rounds up this week.

The singer's purpose-built pop-up stadium will become the world's first portable stadium when she completes her European leg of her tour in Germany.

Inspired by ABBA Voyage's Arena in East London, Adele's, 36, venue will be used and transported all over the world.

An insider told The Sun: 'It would have been a catastrophic loss of money for an entire stadium to be built only for these ten Adele shows, even though the tickets aren’t cheap.

'But a load of different superstars, such as Beyonce or Taylor Swift, could use the venue in years to come. Obviously it’s been built around Adele, so the dream would be for her to use it in other places, but she is eager to have a break.

I just wanted Blur to announce a reunion tour to coincide with the Stone Roses wannabees, sorry I mean Oasis.

That would have reignited some old issues.

Dynamic pricing is the biggest scam since bitcoin.
Forget Oasis, Altered Images are playing in Brighton in October.
