I'm giving myself an easy day today so just the shortest of write-ups.
Bits & pieces of overlay all over the place, no surprise really given the stifling heat, plus of course England's opening match in the RWC.
A great night for @memfno who won the Main event for over £1,230 then won a seat to SPT Manchester. Been here over 10 years & I doubt he's had many better nights than that. @bearlyther did well again, winning 2 seats into Sharpy Main & finishing 3rd for £530, won a seat into Mega & ran 6th, & was runner-up in 9 @ 9. That session was enough to see him break through the £100,000 of profit on Sky Poker MTT's according to Sharky.
After being MIA all week, @scooby78 showed up & took the Mini. in his 10th year here & that was his biggest ever win. Very consistent at small stakes, this was his 2nd Mini victory, but his real strengths are 7 @ 7 (10 wins) & Reload (9 wins). @MAXALLY made the Mini FT for the 2nd time this week, 6th this time.
9 @ 9 went to @king1loui3 who is mostly under the radar but over the years must surely have won all the Sky Poker Featured MTT's except the £110ers.
@Asho28 returned recently from a self-imposed break as he was having a tough time at the tables, the break seems to have done him good as he won last night's £1k BH having run 2nd in a Mini earlier this week.
I very often look at a Sky Poker alias & wonder what the thinking behind it is. There was an absolute beauty last night as Quickdraw was won by @knobnose. I don't really want to think too long as to how that alias came about.
The SPT Semi ran again, seats went to @memfno as already mentioned, and Natalie Bromley. Be great to see the Brommers in Manchester, not seen them for ages.
As predicted in yesterday's writey-uppy, with Wales v Turkey being the only televised football last night, MTT traffic would be fine, & so it proved, with zero overlay anywhere. Weird thing is it was actually a half-decent match, partly spoiled only by a hard sending off for a super soft second yellow. I often wonder if I'm addicted to gambling, as the match was on S4C Wales, with Welsh commentary, & yet I still watched it. Then I switched across to watch Draper get beat 3 sets to zip in the US Open Semi Final. Jeez, even the ridiculously myopic armchair critics could never accuse that boy of not giving 100%. He was so exhausted, combined with the heat/humidity, that he vomited on court several times, but he refused medical assistance & just battled on.
Friday means Avenger, &, Major apart, that's the one everybody wants to win, & it was @claudel9 who came out on top after beating a seriously high quality FT. He's in his 9th year here, does very nicely at MTT's & has played some 3,400 MTT's. Despite that, last night was his biggest score here all-time, narrowly beating his profit for winning that Sunday night £6k BH this time last year. I had the good fortune to meet him a while back & he seems a great bloke, unusually well-adjusted as poker players go with a nice rounded persona. With @Curt360x27 2nd & @newdaddy 6th it was a really class FT. 3rd was @Swifteyyeuwho you may recall picked up well over £4,000 for winning a big UKOPS last Autumn.
@FlynTimber has won pretty much all there is to win here, but until last night I don't think he'd ever won a Mini Avenger. That box is ticked now. Old-timer @Solackwas 4th.
So, both Main & Mini had top class FT's but they'd have to go some to beat the 1-2-3 in BWBH, with @Granite89 topping the podiumates (new word) followed by Melty @chicknMelt & @PokaBayb9. The average Sharky rating of those three is 92.5.
Congrats to @clarkeyy01 for winning 9 @ 9, but don't confuse him with @clarkyy1.
An exceptional session for @SLANLEAT who played just 6 MTT's but still managed to win the Rebuy BH & run 4th in the £800 BH.
Think that's it for today. Very quiet weekend for sport, those football International Breaks are SUCH a pain. Today's highlight is Republic of Ireland v England. And when that is the "highlight" you know it's a thin weekend for sport.
