"Bit of a surprise in the Main as @iamjh91 took the win. Only previous mentions were winning a £1k BH & a Mini Major FT. Sharky rate him very modestly but maybe that'll change now. Only seems to play the Main, plays it most nights & single tables. Runner-up was @HAYSIE who presumably took the night off from regaling us with the fascinating (other adjectives apply) story of his electricity bills.
As with the Main, the Mini went to a relative stranger too, @ColesPoker who does not seem to have much winning history, but is fairly low volume & splits his play 50/50 Cash & MTT's. Good to see a few different faces doing well.
The wonderfully consistent@hhammerhea had a lovely win double, taking both the 7 @ 7 & 9 @ 9. Has just passed the 10,000 game mark & has a 49% ROI which is ridic good over that sample size. Must make a lovely little side-income from the game, the perfect recreational really. If I read the data correctly, he's now won both of those two comps 6 times. 6 of 1, half dozen of the other, one might say.
Turbo went to @rspca12 which was his third win since returning from exile around 6 weeks ago, he's also run 2nd in a Main & 3rd in a Major. Woof.
@Fabraclass took Quickdraw. Does exceptionally well in Quickdraw & Turbo, having won one or the other 5 times since 31st August. In all, he's now won Quickdraw 12 times.
@beanfish took the £1k BH, his 4th best score all-time, & it was enough to make him profitable over a 10,000 game sample. Onwards & upwards now one hopes.
Playing just his 8th MTT in 10 weeks, @scousescum won MidEx.
In the £1k Rebuy it was @ExoEndo who emerged at the top of the pile. Best ever score was 6th in a UKOPS which was worth £1,500 to him. That UKOPS was won by @TEDSON, who I don't recall seeing much this year, but maybe he'll make a re-appearance when UKOPS comes round.
Pleased to say the SPT sat ran again last night, & we had two first time winners in @bossquaid and @MD_575, so will be good to see them both in Manchester next week.
That's it for today. England play Scotland tonight, which is bound to impact poker traffic. Bad news for Sky Poker, good news for SkyBet. Must be nice to be SB&G."
A very odd night for traffic. The early evening numbers were very strong indeed, with the £800 BH making £1,210, & the £1,000 Rebuy BH coming in at a ridiculously high £1,805, which is at the very peak of it's range. After that, normality returned, although the £1,000 Sheriff did OK at £1,400, but by the time the late night stuff arrived, it went the other way, with Turbo barely covering, while Quickdraw & MidEx both registered (small) misses. Televised sport? Well Scotland were playing, which may explain the early evening numbers, & of course NFL is back, but I don't think there's huge crossover between NFL viewers & online poker. As it happened, the Scotland match was mildly entertaining, but of course nobody knew that in advance. OK, let's look at who won what.
The Major made a healthy £10,900 & it was @mnolan8317 who triumphed, that completes a hat-trick of Major wins for him over a 4 year period. Other notable results include wins in both Summit, BWBH & a UKOPS. Clearly useful. 2nd was @MrChance who has been here since 2007 but mainly plays cash & is blocked on Sharky, so I have no data on him at all, & I can't see any evidence of mentions in these threads. 3rd was my old - very old now - mate & near neighbour @eon1961 & even better, he won his seat in Tuesday's Sunday Major Freeroll, so he was on a complete freeroll from which he emerged £1,090 better off. He's best known as a PLO8 player but he's handy enough at NLH & if we go all the way back to 2011 he won over £2,000 in a televised Main. 2nd & 3rd in that 2011 affair were interesting, with 2nd going to @Tallboy- anyone remember him? - & 3rd to @HUGHMANS, who is still here & in fact came very close to winning some FTJ cash a few days ago when running 2nd in Mini & 9th in the Main. @Sharki0 was 4th last night, with @MSDOS 6th. Sandwiched between them in 5th was @Swogwho alongside 5th in the Major cashed in the Main on GG Poker, the Sunday Milly & two opening night WCOOP's. Imagine that, he was on about a dozen tables on at last three different sites. We have much to thank (thank?) Chris Moneymaker for. FT Bubble Boy in the Major was "Pretty Boy" @lJAMESl
@GSmith13 took the Mini from a bunch of the usual suspects, although I'm not familiar with the runner-up @potsymoore, all I can find for our potsy friend is 2nd in a £1k BH two years ago.
Quite a surprise in the £5k BH with @BetRaise taking home almost £1,270 for the win. Been here 8 years & this was his first ever thread namecheck although only seems to have played 148 MTT's, with this being far & away a PB. Bubbled the 9 @ 9 FT a few days ago so is maybe running into some form. 2nd was @bsc who has played just 8 MTT's here since April. This was his 2nd biggest cash lifetime, beaten only by 1st place in Sheriff some 7 years ago. 6th was @claudel9 just 48 hours after winning Avenger Main. A deep run into 17th by the in-form @NChanning but I fancy he had one eye on the NFL opening weekend, as he's a huge fan of the game & may be one of the 3 people in the UK who actually understand the rules.
Another surprise was Sheriff, where @lippy74 who has barely played since May, & just 19 MTT's here in total, with no previous successes of note.
On a night of surprises, 9 @ 9 qualified too, with the winner playing their 1st MTT here in over 3 years & 8th in 5 years. Alias? @JENSBUM. Yup, you read that right. I'll be the first to admit I'm old & out of touch, but I have to shake my head in wonder when folks think aliases like that are appropriate or maybe funny. We live in strange times, but it's almost certainly me that's out of step, not them. No offence Mr or Mrs Bum, I just struggle to come to terms with modern "humour".
@Super_Oli continues to reap a rich harvest, and last night's haul included 1st in that huge Rebuy BH, 1st in Quickdraw, 2nd in a £400 BH & 6th in a £500 BH.
A welcome win in MidEx for @theclaw00 who may not be a familiar alias but has a few decent scores including 1st & 2nd in Sheriffs & 4th in a Sunday Major.
I'm done. Football's dreaded "International Break" continues until Friday, so traffic may be decent for a few days, although Tomorrow night sees the highly anticipated clash between England & Finland which will have us all on the edge of our seats no doubt. Oh yes.
