Now that we have a couple of serious answers from @tomgoodun and @Essexphil he's my two penneth worth on a similar vein
1. Modern history - not ancient history, the Romans etc (what have they ever done for us? but World War 1, World War 2 and after, the stuff that has made the world what it is today, including the sacrifices made by others. 2. Finance - maths is all very well and essential, but let's teach how it works in the real world, teach about debt, mortgages, APRs, credit scores, savings, investments, how to budget etc all knowledge that is sadly lacking in the majority of people, including most teachers! 3. Basic DIY skills - for girls as well as boys so they at least have an idea about how to fix things, maybe include some basics on cars too, how they work, how to change a wheel, where the oil goes, where the water goes etc. 4. Basic cooking skills - boys as well as girls, teach people to cook and they won't just buy MacDonalds and fries. 5. Social skills, how to interact with others, how to empathise, how your actions and words can hurt others and why that's a bad thing.
Maybe sacrifice a few useless qualifications to make sure kids have a grounding in those areas, it would certainly make them better people.
