"Morning, on what is, here in the Midlands, a thoroughly dull, wet & miserable Friday morning, with a definite feel of winter.
Rather surprisingly, both Main & Mini missed guarantee last night, but only by 1 & 3 entries respectively, so no damage done.
The Main went to the curmudgeonly, argumentative & stubborn @HAYSIE. Many bad things have been written about him - I should know, I wrote most of them - but all things considered, it's amazing how well he actually does. When you've played over 40,000 MTT's with an ABI of almost £19 it's hard to make the graph move much, but in the last 2 months it's taking a significant upturn. Results since early August including 1st places in Sunday Major, Avenger Main & now Hitman. Not many of our resident hotshots can match that. He plays poker his own way, is super "sticky", has old fashioned raise sizes, & gets dog's abuse for it, but many of his critics would love his results. We know to take Sharky stats with a pinch of salt, especially the eccentric way they account for rebuys (Tony loves a rebuy) but based on their stats he's now just a few bob shy of £100,000 profit on Sky Poker. The real figure will be a lot less, yes yes, but the fella loves his poker & I don't ever see him abusing other players in the chat every time he loses a hand. Worth noting he's in his late 60's (though looks much older) & we have quite a few Seniors here who still get decent results from time to time - @HAYSIE@EBBERDON@wynne1938@SoLack@Dollie@Essexphil & many many others. The beauty of poker is there are so many different ways to play, & it can never be a bad thing to swim against the tide & do things differently to others.
@jody12 won the Mini. Enjoys a Sharky rating of 89, & has some solid scores from just ~170 MTT's including the FT of Sunday Major (twice), & a £110 entry UKOPS FT.
@loololollo took Sheriff, the second time he's done so this month, plus he was 3rd in the Mini. Other wins this month include Turbo & Quickdraw, and 3rd in a £110 BWBH.
SPT Champ @Vertigo continues his rapid climb up the ranks, winning Reload for the 2nd time in 5 nights, & in the last 9 nights he's won a Main, a MidEx & two Reloads.
We don't see much of @Swog these days but when he cba to show up he does OK & won last night's Quickdraw. He had a hot spell last month when in the space of a week he won the £6k BH & ran 1st & 3rd in BWBH after which he went mostly AWOL.
MidEx went to @MikeyW94who does seem to excel in the late night stuff, & in the last two weeks alone has won Quickdraw 3 times, Turbo & MidEx.
@richhazza took the £1k BH. Used to be something of a beast around 10 years ago & I well recall him winning a PRIMO Mini that was televised on the TV Channel, & he won plenty of big stuff between 2010 to 2014."
It was a blank night for televised football, despite which there were 4 small slivers of overlay (Mini, Sheriff, Turbo & Quickdraw) though it only amounted to £260, almost half of which came from Quickdraw. So much for my prediction yesterday that traffic would be good.
Decent prize pool in the £4,000 Predator Main though, which comfortably cleared £5,000, with @lammin coming out on top. It was the only MTT he played here last night so that's pretty cool. 24 hours earlier he'd been 3rd in Quickdraw, & on the last day of September he won Turbo. I'm not sure if it's the same chap, but at SPT Brighton earlier this year, there was a guy named Dan Lammin on the Final Table. 2nd last night was @NChanningwho seems to be making a lot of FT's recently. Played 3 MTT's here last night, finishing 2/139 in the Main, 7/15 in Sheriff & 16/28 in Turbo. Amazes me that he still seems to have such enthusiasm for poker, even in the relatively calm & shallow Sky Poker waters. In 3rd was @S4R4H who has only been here 2 months & played less than 2 dozen MTT's.
The Mini was taken down by @PJS75 who seems to be on something of a roll, having made the Reload FT three times in the last fortnight, finishing 1st, 1st & 5th, also made a 9 @ 9 FT last month. 2nd was @poole10, & @BACKFOOT was 3rd in addition to which he ran deep in Rewards Freeroll & picked up £20 there too.
@cabbaz is developing into something of a win machine, & he added two more trophies last night, Turbo & Quickdraw. I had a peruse of his Sharky stats - 10,000 MTT's, 48.7% ROI, total profit £142,000. Ridiculous.
@BAMBUS won 7 @ 7 and later on, would likely have won Quickdraw if he had not bumped into one on the shape of @cabbaz
@Iceneilljoined Sky Poker in April of last year but has not put in much volume, last night's £800 BH was just his 99th, but he took his maiden featured MTT victory, so there is that. And maybe the win will encourage him to play a little more often. (But "gamble Responsibly" & all that).
There was an interesting newcomer in Sheriff as @KiaHwho joined us just 5 days ago booked their maiden win, beating a very good FT of regulars in the process. One for the tracker.
@claudel9continues to do well, won the Rebuy BH one night last week & took last night's 9 @ 9. Hopefully we'll see him in Brighton next month.
After winning two Reloads in the last 3 weeks, @bakersdoze turned his attention to winning last night's Rebuy BH.
@lewjax79 completed a 10 day Tricast in Reload - 1st last night, 2nd on 30th September & 3rd on 4th October.
MidEx went to @Aaaces3 who won a BWBH 2 years ago.
Epic scenes in the Elim Freeroll as @Shrimpy28 wins it & takes 24 (TWENTY FOUR) Head Prizes. How lucky does that boy run?
