    This day last year

"Turning to last night now, the Main went to @bustout44 who won his seat in a £7.20 satellite so £1,115 was a lovely return. His claim to fame is winning back-to-back Main events in 2020. Was one of the very early sign-ups here, March 2007 so 16+ years, & very profitable. I vividly remember him winning "The Open" on a night it was televised in around 2008/9, I was in the Studio alongside Orford who was being his usual annoying self. 2nd last night was @benc with @grinddd 3rd & @AlexaAJ 5th.

@AlexaAJ also FT'd the Mini, finishing 4th, so collects £150 from the FTJ kitty. 1st in the Mini was @butters08 who was winning his 2nd Mini since July. Seem to do remarkably well in Freerolls.

The night's biggest 1st prize went to @ChipDiddy0 who collected £1,694 for taking down Summit. Had a disappointing UKOPS by his standards but did manage two win two of them.

2nd was @tonyp142 who is in a rich vein of form, having won a UKOPS Main for over £3,000 last week.

One to keep an eye on is @KT1875 who only joined Sky a few months ago & has played just 23 MTT's, but he won a UKOPS Turbo on Sunday & was 2nd here & is currently well in profit.

I was pleased to see @Nitrogen take the 7 @ 7. Has been AWOL most of this year until the last few weeks. From a small count (423 MTT's) won a UKOPS Main in '20 & a Summit in 2021 as well as the Sunday night £6k BH and is super profitable. Not sure why he went MIA, maybe wanted to cast his net in deeper waters.

After a UKOPS he'll want to forget @loololollo returned to some semblance of his usual form, 1st in Mega, 5th in Mini & 3rd in Turbo. That's more like it.

Toughest FT of the night was maybe Turbo where @Ittybitty1 came out best, & in doing so beat - arguably - the night's toughest FT which included @seikus @loololollo @BillyPckle @Natnug & @Thoich.

    That's about that for today."

    Morning.

The Monday of an Autumn UKOPS is always quiet & with modest guarantees & last night was no exception. Prize pools totalled £29,450, some 11.3% north of guarantees, although there was a small miss in the £11 entry Mini which came up £60 shy. It was, of course, a vanilla freezeout & much as a few players (me included) still love their poker clean, straight & unencumbered by juvenile gimmicks, the fact is the wider poker population these days want more variety, &, dare I say it, more frivolous, stuff. Did you know that the majority of modern-day online poker players actually LIKE and WANT "throwables" including "poo" emojis? Now couple that with the fact that you have to be at least 18 years old to play Online Poker in the UK. The mind boggles, these are (technically) ADULTS. Barely believable, isn't it? Meh.

Moving swiftly on.... last night's Main was a single re-entry £110 affair (yes, almost but not quite vanilla) & it crept over the line at £10,800. We did see a terrific winner though, with @Swog taking top spot. In fact he also won a nice MTT on GG last night for around $3,300, so add in the £3,000 for UKOPS 22 & that's a decent night. We'll never know who the best 10 or 20 MTT players on Sky Poker are, it's impossible to tell. Adding up past winnings is meaningless but I'd be pretty convinced he's up there amongst the Top 20 on this site these days though. As an aside, around 10 years ago @Swog briefly kept a Diary here, in the days before they became unfashionable. Here, take a look...

    https://www.skypoker.com/secure/poker/sky_lobby/community/forums#/discussion/124208/swogs-diary/p1

Back to last night's Main, 2nd was a terrific result for @69winsalot and I see he gained entry via a £24 satellite, & ended up trousering almost £1,800. Lovely job. In 3rd was @Hoff92 and he got his entry vias the same satellite as @69winsalot. @Hoff92 also ran 3rd in the 9pm UKOPS 24, so a solid sesh for The Hoffster. 4th was @ILIKE2FISH who I sense is having a slightly frustrating UKOPS so far with @nickkay in 6th, he's another who got in via a £24 satellite. In 5th was the constantly abused @HAYSIE who gets all sort of stick because he likes to play poker his own way, & refuses to swim with the tide, especially as to "fashionable" opening sizes. God bless him, & I hope he never changes ploughing a lonely furrow can be more fun than most could ever imagine.

In the Mini a tremendous win for @Dbwins who is in terrific form, breaking personal records repeatedly. From over 1,000 games, their best 4 results have all come in the last 2 months - a Reload win in September, a Mini win 19th October, a Mega win 5 days later, & now, best of all, a UKOPS Mini win. Quite an appropriate alias it seems to me. 2nd was @Froozle & not to underestimate him, but you know all about him as he's a regular feature of these scribblings. I may be incorrect, but I believe @Brick123 may be the first player to achieve a Tricast in this UKOPS - 1st in UKOPS 10, 2nd in UKOPS 18 & now 3rd in UKOPS 23. For a player who appeared to be breakeven at best prior to this Series, that's some set of results. I noticed @hurst05 was 6th, I'm fairly sure that's "Pretty Boy" from way back in the TV days who had the hots for Anna Fowler.

Talking of "Pretty Boy" I noticed my dear friend @lJAMESl ran 6th in the opener, UKOPS 21. As £22 entry Sky Poker MTT's go that had a stonking FT line up, with @FITBHITF taking the win. 2nd to 6th in finishing order were @SoLack @Fabraclass @MikeyW94 @podraic & of course @lJAMESl in 6th. And yes, I've remembered what those FITBHITF initials stand for - Fire In The Belly, Head In The Freezer. No idea what that means but that's an age thing, I still don't understand what Facebook "Friends" are. My definition of "friends" must be very different to most.

The 9pm £55 entry Super Bounty Hunter was another hot affair, with @Curt360x27 topping the table. That's three FT's in the Series so far - 6th in the Day 1 High Roller, 2nd in Sunday's UKOPS 19 & now 1st in UKOPS 24. A testing night for @Hoff92 as having run 3rd in the Main he was 2nd here. If he's got backbone & character he'll cope though, it's only in adversity that we get to see the true mettle of people. If a "beat" in poker gets you hooting & hollering then poker really is not for you imo. Amongst those sharing that FT were the likes of @Jessieak @GFKIJKLL & @gobbleoff, all of whom you know plenty about already.

UKOPS 25 was the Turbo & went to @RossMc who has been here forever. Not seen or heard of him for ages until quite by chance I shared a table with him at DTD in Nottingham last week. He's not changed one bit, still loving his poker, & still travelling across to Vegas two or three times every year. Another ridic tough FT which included such Sky Poker luminaries as @loololollo @roddy28 dual SPT AND UKOPS winner @chrisdonkb & @MrDooWop

    The night's closer went to serial winner @grinddd with a great effort in 2nd by @wigglytuff @addy79 in 3rd, @NChanning in 4th then @whitters95 & @NOSTRI

Think that'll do for now, I've chuntered on far too long already. (I'm a little grumpy today). Some tremendous Champions League football this evening, so it'll be a tough ask for the UKOPS Guarantees to be met. It's "bonfire night" too. Help yourself.

Morning, I'm afraid you're confusing me with another RossMC Tikay, I have been round for an age and have been awol for a while but I rarely play live, we have met decades ago when the Sky Poker Tour came to Newcastle but sadly that was our one and only meeting to date.

Ahh, wrong "Ross", my sincere apologies.

I was definitely unsure, but I gambled & lost, & ended up making a fool of myself again. Doubt it'll be the last time...

Thanks for letting me know though, & maybe we'll bump into each other again at a Live event in the future.

Fantastic result for me, as a low stakes grinder, satellited in for a fiver was a great result, disappointed in the final table, exit hand knew I was dominated, but can't complain, 600 plus quid is a lot of money to me, hopefully some more decent runs to come.

    Lovely stuff @nickkay

Withdraw most of that £600 & keep playing those satellites.

Good luck for the rest of the Series.
