Accessing via web browser

Has anyone else lost the ability to log in directly through a browser window rather than through the app?
For context, I use an ipad during the day with a split screen to play on 2 windows simultaneously.
Now, when using any internet browser on the ipad or iphone the log on button takes me to the app only which takes away the ability to play more than one table. I've tried it through Safari, Brave, Firefox and Edge, which leads me to think it's a Sky update rather than all of these at once. Cannot even access the lobby to post or comment now unless I use a laptop.

This is now the top of my screen where before there were text boxes for your username and password

I think this is a new update. I get the same as you above. Takes you to another screen now to 'log in' and then you can access the Forum etc. (ON CHROME - ON A PC)

Yes I get the same on my laptop using Edge.
This is awful for the rest of the daytime players as they will be limited to less than half of my previous “investments”
@SkyJames is this true, new update?
If so it’s pretty bad for people on iPads who can now longer access the lobby or anything else when playing just a single table.
Cannot do anything at all in a browser.

Mine too, plus if am on a tourney and then try to reg for another it logs me oot.

Yes, looks like 2 steps have been added.

If you try log in on Chrome, it takes you to the mobile login page, then redirects to sky bet login page, asks for password and pin.


So, log in takes you through 3 steps to log in.

No steps would achieve the same thing.

I hope I'm not speaking too soon ('coz it often comes and 'Bites you in the Bum' )

..... but for the first time in A-G-E-S, the In Running Tourney Info is updating properly, and even more importantly (at least for me), the In Running Tourney Lobby is updating immediately ...... which is so much better, as you know exactly where you are in a Sat./Tournament, instead of having to refresh the page every two minutes.

So for me, and I'm sure most players .....the latest Update is a VAST IMPROVEMENT..... even if there is a very slightly longer Log in process ........(for me, I just clicked the Log in button and I was logged in tbh)

No doubt the update is fantastic for gameplay, but it’s not the point I’m making here.
The removal of browser functionality is for me, and potentially many others, a big problem.
If I am limited to 1 table on the iPad, with no ability to have other tabs open like the structure and payouts of the game I’m playing in, other games that are starting, no access to sharky, amongst other things, then there are other sites out there with far better software doing this 1-table job than Sky. This functionality was one of if not the big draw for me (asides from this lobby and TK’s excellent hosting of it).
Flagging this up as it might be something that can be fixed I hope

have you tried deleting the app? a lot of websites on ipad redirect to the app if you have it downloaded.

There used to be a workaround, whereby you could log in (more easily, but after the first time it is not that big a deal), log out, and still use the forum. It looks like that has gone.

Which, if true, will have a serious effect on this forum

I think the issue is that downloading and installing the software for the site is a mission that has always proven a bit counter intuitive and difficult.

So a lot of players play through the browser and if it is made difficult or counter intuitive or limits them then they could potentially be lost and lost forever. It can also make it harder to attract and retain new players.

Sky poker probably do want the player size to shrink to much because once it does it is coming to an end.

A quick non-update update.

The Poker Manager did pass this across to the Tech guys yesterday. At this stage, I've had no further feedback. As & when I do, either @Sky__James or myself will Update you.

Thanks for everyone's feedback. The tech guys have been investigating this issue today.

We're preparing a release which should stop the mobile app intercepting login requests. That's currently in testing and should hopefully be released next week. I'll post again when that has taken place.

Another tech request too, while we have your attention 🤓
Playing on my laptop, using Edge for multitabling. I am unable to launch any table of a tournament other than my own, so unable watch bubble action unfolding for example, unless I get it on my iPad next to me. But, I can launch and watch any number of other tables on my iPad browsers. Same for anyone else? Can this be fixed by sky or any other clever person who may be reading?

I cant replicate this problem as i won't entertain Edge on my PC.

I use Chrome and I can open other tounie tables whether I'm sat at the table or not.

Out of interest, can you view any cash tables whilst in a tournie?
