"Numbers were probably middle of range for time of month & year. Avenger Main made £8,440 against £6,320 this day last year, a monstrous 34% y-o-y increase. The Mini missed by £85 last night, an improvement on last year's £440 overlay. BWBH was almost identical, £4,900 (ignoring g'tee) last night, £4,800 last year, although it only had a £4k g'tee last year, whereas it's now £5,000.
Danny @Itsover4u took Avenger Main, easily his best score this month, which includes finishing 2nd in two UKOPs events. Remarkably, it's the 6th time he's won Avenger Main & 2nd time in 3 months. Has an odd record in the Major, best results being 2nd no less than three times, four times if we count the Major's predecessor, the Super Roller. Time he won that one. @LFCChris86 was 2nd, so was just one spot shy of spectacular double, as he won Thursday's Hitman Main.
@hhammerhea took the Mini, & I was a little shocked to see that was a Sky Poker PB for him. He's better known for winning Reload with an almost monotonous regularity. Can't really argue with his stats which suggest a 50% ROI over a 10,000 game sample size. Whatever way you cut that, it's impressive.
Yet another great night for @MikeyW94 who seems to be in the form of his life. From just 5 MTT's played, won BWBH, was 4th in the Main & 2nd in Quickdraw. Has had a wonderful November, with victories in BWBH, Main, Sheriff, Turbo & Quickdraw. In addition was 3rd in a £530 UKOPS HR & also 3rd in a UKOPS Main, those two results alone being worth a combined £3,600. On current form, he is amongst the best MTT-ers on the site, or close to it, though I accept that variance & recency bias can skew opinions.
After a thinnish spell @Natnugis returning to form & last night's haul included two wins (Rebuy BH & Turbo), 5th in BWBH & 6th in Mega.
A word of sympathy for young @Swog who was runner-up in Turbo for the 2nd straight night. Just unfortunate that on both nights he was heads-up against vastly superior players.
@FeNdeR36played his way to 1st place in the £1k BH. I think he's mainly a cash player, & has played only around 100 MTT's so far in 2023.
Quickdraw went to @GREGSTER, two weeks after he took down a Hitman Mini.
@_burnsy_ will have enjoyed his session, 1st in Reload, 4th in the Rebuy BH & 3rd in Mega.
Returning to Sky Poker MTT's for the very first time since July 2020, some 3 years & 4 months ago, @baileys126 sprung a surprise by winning 7 @ 7.
That's it for today.
From the comfort of my well-used armchair I'll be watching Man City v Liverpool at 12.30 & Brentford v Arsenal at 5.30, num num num."
Decent MTT numbers again, & it was good to see the Main back on track, with the £4,000 Hitman hitting £5,040. Three bits of overlay though, & once again most of the £395 was in late night stuff - £15 in the Mini, £220 in Turbo & £160 in MidEx.
After the star-studded Main Event FT on Wednesday normality returned last night, though the winner - @whitters95 - is certainly top class, with Sharky rating him at 91. He'd been AWOL since 8th November & this was his first night back, won his seat in a Satellite too. That apart he played a full schedule & apart from winning a Sheriff satellite he drew a blank. A good litmus test of a player's ability is the Sunday Major & he has an astounding CV in that - made the FT 14 times, being 1st twice, 2nd three times, 3rd four times, 4th 3 times, 5th once & 6th once. Not many can boast better than that. Runner-up was the self-styled unluckiest player on the planet, @kawamattyz who had a decent night, having won his seat in a £7.20 satellite & showed a dash of versatility by running 6th in the PLO8.
@ughx3000cx won the Mini, & was quite close to FTJ cash, as he was 10th in the Main. Is on a cracking run at the moment, On Sunday he won Reload, Tuesday he won a £400 BH, Wednesday he took down both Reload & MidEx then last night's Mini. An excellent effort to finish 2nd by@ems25 who had been AWOL since 9th November. Not sure he's ever won a Featured MTT so a bit unlucky to run into Mr Ugh in such great form. 4th was@reeler who I was supposed to register as a Free Entry (won in a Forum Comp) but I missed the message so he did it on his own coin.
Sheriff was as hot as ever, with a 1-2-3 of @alancarr12@GFKIJKLL & @ChipDiddy0. 6th was @NChanning who has found the knack of making that FT more often than not but with such a short field frequently goes home empty-handed as was the case last night.
The £800 BH went to @TRAXwho inevitably signed off with his trademark "cheers lad" comment in the chatbox. I rather like that, the usual suspects frequently dig him out over it (behind his back, obv) but I can think of far worse, especially those who berate others for (supposed) poor play.
@roytheboy7 who won a UKOPS Rebuy a few weeks ago was back in the winner's circle, the Rebuy BH. And here's a weird stat, he was one of 4 players with an alias ending with "7" who won a Featured MTT last night. And noticing that, dear Readers, is what it's like to suffer from chronic OCD. You've no idea how I suffer...
Biggest shock of the night, & not even close, was @goldnballz winning 7 @ 7. Years ago - many years ago - he used to be decent - or at least competent - but age has taken it's toll & he's a spent force these days. To be fair, he is the 2nd best player in his house, behind only @fredsgirl
9 @ 9 & Reload went to @Dunc87 &@POISON007 respectively, with @Morris707 binking Mega. I'm hopeful @Morris707 will be at Brighton next weekend, & I'm very confident I'll fail to recognize him. Again. The ageing process & with it the inability to recognize familiar faces is tragic.
Arguably the night's best all-round performance was @GFKIJKLL who won Quickdraw & a £300 Turbo BH, was 2nd in Sheriff & 3rd in a £500 BH.
That's it for today. More snow here last night, but warmer weather is imminent. And rain. And wind. I love the glorious unpredictability of our weather & many take it for granted. In my younger days when I used to go gallivanting round the world to exotic holiday destinations, I recall being shocked in places like Hawaii, Senegal & The Gambia that they never had weather forecasts, simply because the weather is basically the same every day. For all the moaners & groaners, I'd not swap the UK for anywhere, it has so many hidden merits that we take for granted.
