Sharpshooter Main made what I thought was a reasonable £6,360, then I got quite a shock, as last year's renewal made £6,840, which was 8% better than last night. It was a very similar result in the Mini.
Which was a feeble attempt at a pun, but in fact it turned out to be quite prescient, as our watch component man @mainspring popped up with a timely Sharpshooter Main victory. It was his biggest win in 15,000 games here, the previous best being a 2020 UKOPS Mini in which @Shrimpy28 (remember him?) was 4th &@Angmar2626 5th.
Playing his first MTT session since UKOPS ended 3 weeks ago, @FeelGroggylooked like winning for much of the evening, but eventually had to settle for 3rd. He's been on the Forum a fair bit recently, dispensing valuable hand analysis advice, for which we should all be grateful. He comes along to most SPT's & is terrific company, unless you happen to share tables with him.
@JMH7 took the Mini. It was his 2nd Mini FT this month but he does his best work in Reload, in which he is a serial winner.
9 @ 9 went to @luckme002 who has numerous Main Event wins on his CV. Does well in high value UKOPS too. Rather oddly, has made the FT of all the scheduled £100-ers (Major, Summit & BWBH) but has yet to win one.
@winn10took Turbo. Has made three Main Event FT's in the last 2 months & has won Avenger Main more than once.
After a 5 week absence @wallnutts returned with a flourish, booking a 7 @ 7 win. Has a dozen or more 4-figure cashes, the best of which was £3,800 for a 2015 Super Roller. In 2010 he took down a big televised MTT (Sky Poker TV) in which @dantb10 was 5th. There's a blast from the past, wonder what he's up to these days? Dan was a member of Team Sky Poker & came to Vegas with us in 2009 & ran deep (40th I think) in a WSOP $1,500 affair. That was the day @HAYSIE embarrassed us all by getting thrown out of the WSOP cardroom area. Last I recall, Dan had started a family, so I guess that put poker on the back-burner.
The SPT Semi ran for only the third time in 9 attempts, with @bigfatfish & @rafal booking their seats.
That will have to suffice for today, Sunday & all that."
Some sparkling numbers last night, best of which was the £6k Avenger Main which came in at a lovely £8,480, the £1k Turbo hit £1,500, £1k Quickdraw £1,420, & even the struggling £1k MidEx made £1,200. The only miss, surprisingly, was £63 in Reload. Perhaps most interesting of all, as many of you know, the Mini has been struggling & regularly missing, but last night - the only Rebuy Mini all week - far exceeded it's £3,000 g'tee at £3,690. The bad weather helped of course.
That big Avenger Main produced a wonderful result in so many ways. The winner was @imbluffinn who after 9 years & ~2,800 MTT's secured his best ever result two weeks ago when winning a UKOPS Mini Rebuy. That PB never lasted long though, as last night's win earned him £1,865. How good must he feel this morning? Big-hitter @roddy28 was 2nd, with @chris15115 in 3rd, having run 4th in Hitman Main the night before. 5th was @jessieak who is generally there or thereabouts in these things. There's more though, an astounding feat by 86 year old @wynne1938 to finish 4th, but he was not even the eldest Finalist, as the super-veteran @HAYSIEwas 6th. I don't know his exact age, but we can reasonably assume he's well over 90. If I could get results like that when (if?) I reach their age, I'd be proud as proud can be.
In the Mini, @Tpot66 took the win, that coming just 48 hours after he won the Rebuy BH. Runner-up was @mainspring & if you happen to read "This day last year" - surely someone does? - you'll know he won Sharpshooter Main exactly a year ago today. Good timing.... 3rd was @roddy28 which won't fill @Sky__James with joy as he ran 2nd in the Main & so gets a handsome £750 in cash from the FTJ.
BWBH was mostly Usual Suspects, with a fine win by @Jscorgie who was winning it for the 4th time. He's also won 3 Sunday Majors & at least 6 Summits. 3rd to 6th respectively yielded no real shocks - @cabbaz@loololollo@peiratis88& @Limp2Lose. What was a surprise though, & a huge one, was runner-up @Kazlily. At the £5 stake levels, Kaz has registered 2 small wins & a handful of FT's but last night was a different matter, this was a £110 entry affair. He began by winning a £5.20 satellite, that took him to a £24 satellite in which he won his seat, then somehow ducked & dived into 2nd place & took home ~£740. He's gotta be chuffed to bits & quite right too.
Good to see an old mate of mine @edrich win the 7 @ 7. His routine most nights is to play the £800 BH & 7 @ 7 so he does not spend a fortune & last night's £170 means he plays the next fortnight for free in effect.
@Brick123 was one of the surprise packages in the recent UKOPS, with a 1st, 2nd & 3rd, & he was back last night, winning the Rebuy BH. @MynaFrett who started that excellent thread to discuss the Mini seems to be making a lot of FT's lately, & was 3rd.
A great performance by @ChipDiddy0who had a win double of Mega & Quickdraw, this coming just a fortnight after he pocketed nearly £4,000 when winning a UKOPS High Roller.
Turbo went to the ever improving @Swog but I'm not going to bother BSUHA as he's locked his Sharky which makes life hard for me.
That'll have to do for today, it's Saturday & I've got Saturday stuff to do.
I thought I had a small chance of sneaking a very small FT table bonus last night. I made the FT in the main, when this happened. I had a million outs. Well that may be an exaggeration, but thousands anyway. Couldnt hit any of them.

This day last year
"The usual shortish Sunday morning whizz through.Traffic was OK-ish, no more, no less.

Commenting on the 7 @ 7, I said this;
@mainspring - one to watch?.
