"MTT Numbers were OK, with the £1k Rebuy BH getting an honourable mention at £1,805, right at the very top of it's range.
The Major came in at £12,200, compared with £11,700 (ignoring g'tee) last year, 5% up y-o-y.
The £6k BH came to £6,210, 12% up y-o-y, though the g'tee was only £5k last year.
Our man @HAYSIEwon the Major. Amazingly that's the 9th time he's won it, & he's also run 2nd in the Major (or it's predecessor, the Super Roller) 7 times. I guess others may have won it more times, & few have been here as long as he has, but even so, that's a remarkable achievement, especially given his advanced years - he's a long way into his seventies, or he looks it. He has his own way of playing, & he's certainly not a dedicated follower of poker fashion, but different & awkward is often the way to go. He's an annoying so & so at the best of times, but fair play to the cantankerous & curmudgeonly old codger. It pains me to be nice to him so I'll leave it at that.
2nd was @Stayorgo, who won his seat via the £24 6pm satellite. He's now been 2nd in the Major or Super Roller 7 times, though rather oddly has only won it once.
@ozzieowen took the Mini Major, then also won a £400 BH for a bit of bonus on top. Earlier in the week he had a great session, 1st in both Reload & 9 @ 9, & 2nd in Turbo.
The £6k BH saw a terrific result with @GELDY booking the win. We used to see him regularly at all the Live events, but he's a busy man with work commitments which take him all over the world, so we don't see so much of him & his famous red jumper much these days. He generally plays lower stakes but he's tricky & perfectly capable of causing the cool kids a headache at these stakes. If you happen to read this mate, hope you & yours ae well.
@Summers119 had a wonderful evening. Won the £1k BH, 5th in another £1k BH, 3rd in Reload, 4th in a Micro, won a little PLO affair, & for good measure is this week's MML winner, so that's a free £33 seat in the tank.
Think that will have to do for today, I'm way over my preferred word-count, everyone will be falling asleep.
I'm hoping to start a thread today, "Dedicated followers of poker fashion", inspired by @HAYSIE winning the Major again. I'm itching to do it, it's like ASIMS, & I know I'll regret it when I do, as it'll upset so many. It's just that, with increased age, one tends to muse a lot..."
Decent night for MTT traffic, with the £5k Main making £6,480 & it's £1,500 baby bro £1,930. Just two slivers of overlay, Turbo a tenner & MidEx (no surprise) coming up £120 shy.
A lovely result in the Main with @Shrimpy28 grabbing the win. That's his second victory in a Sharpy Main, he's also won an Avenger Main. Only played two MTT's last night too, Main & Mini. He has a young family - 4 kids - so ~£1,360will certainly help put plenty of pressies under the tree. Only dark spot on his day was Posh getting turned over at home by Reading. Into each life, a little rain must fall. 2nd was @Woebegonewho got in via a satellite for £7.20. @JammyFker who always finds time to congratulate others was 3rd.
@DADDYWOLF has an immaculate record in Sharpshooter Mini, he had a 2nd in April, won it in June, & won it again last night. 3rd was the recent returnee @Slipwater, that's his 2nd Mini FT in 4 nights, as he was 2nd in Wednesday's Predator. It's so good to see him back on the Forum, we are in desperate need of new blood as we have 2 or 3 contributors who are doing their best to ruin it, & may end up leaving us soon.
Hard to think of a player in better form right now than @mainspring, & after running 2nd in Friday's big Mini, won both Rebuy BH & Reload last night. He must love this time of year, as it was exactly a year ago yesterday that he won a Sharpshooter Main.
Actually, one player who may be in even better form is @ughx3000cx who won MidEx for the2nd time in the last 3 nights. What a week he's had - 5 wins, being a Mini, two Reloads & two MidEx's. Congrats Mr Ugh.
On Friday two of our resident Old Boys did well - @wynne1938 & @HAYSIE - & last night @MacMonster chimed in by winning 7 @ 7. It's been a while since we've seen Ian at an SPT, hopefully he'll come along to one soon.
A new name on the 9 @ 9 Trophy as@DanWon is the last man standing. Only previous Featured MTT win I could find was a Rebuy BH in the Summer of 2023.
@rustycole is in his 10th year at Sky Poker, does not frequent the cash tables & has played just 123 MTT's but after winning last night's Quickdraw maybe we'll see more of him now.
In late September @vikpro77 ran 2nd in a Turbo & then completely disappeared, only to return last night & win Sheriff.@NChanning must hold the record for making the Sheriff FT most times without cashing & did so again last night, 6th this time. For balance, he gets more than a fair share of cashes too. The Great Man will be holding court at Brighton next weekend which is something to look forward to.
@jedinemo won the £800 BH & collected ~£200 & then FT bubbled the Mini but still picked up around £80 for his fiver entry fee.
SPT Brighton seats went to @loololollo & @TommyD. It'll be good to see both of them, but especially @TommyD who I have not seen for a good few years. What a day he must have had yesterday, with Spurs shellacking Man City.
