"Struggling a bit to find inspiration today. Some days these things almost write themselves, other days not so much.
For some reason yesterday's write-up got the highest views of any of these reports for many a month.
Numbers last night were OK, though the 9 @ 9 missed by a a handful of entries, which is becoming a habit.
The Main made £5,310, a handsome 22% increase on last year's £4,350.
@paul10 won the Main. Don't know much about him, except that he's been here since May 2007, just a few months after the Site opened. Best result I can find was a boomlet Hitman Main win three years ago, which had a £8,460 Prize Pool. COVID was ghastly, but every cloud... Also won back-to-back Sheriffs a few years ago & various MidEx & assorted others. Seems to be nicely profitable.
4th was @Shrimpy28 who we don't see much of these days. He had a very decent night, 4th in the Main, 11th in the £1k BH, 13th in the Rebuy BH & 6th in Mega. The money will come in handy, as he's saving up to have some "I love Arteta" tattoos.
@dee2014 won the Mini & followed up by also winning a £100 Turbo that kicked off at 0230 this morning. Great bloke, he won a Mini UKOPS in 2020, & I recall meeting him at an earlier SPT Manchester.
@Bambus makes a habit of winning the Turbo, took it again last night, which is at least the 4th time in the last 2 months.
On Thursday @LFCChris86 won Hitman Main, 24 hours later he ran 2nd in Avenger Main, & last night he took down the Mega. Bloke's having a great run, rather like the football club he presumably supports.
Reload went to @bsa1972. "bsa" might just be his initials, but hopefully it's homage to the beautiful BSA motorcycle marque. My first "big" bike (500cc was big in those days) was a BSA Gold Star. Motorbikes have changed a bit..."
MTT traffic was a bit odd last night. Despite some really bouyant examples at the top of their run-rate, there were still 4 misses - the £5k BH came up £380 shy, Reload £117, MidEx £100 &, as expected, the Mini Major missed again, £100 this time.
In the Major, we should not really be surprised to see that @ozzieowen got the lot. He returned in early November from a 7 week break, since when he's been in imperious form. Wins since 4th November include last night's Major, (the 3rd time he's won it) a UKOPS, Sheriff, Mega, & most impressive of all, THREE Minis (one a Mini Major) in the last 9 nights. Nobody can equal that, surely? The only thing he's done wrong is timing, he won the Mini Major & Major one week apart, which cost him (& saved Sky Poker) £5,000. He was everywhere last night, 1st in Major, 3rd in MidEx, 4th in Turbo, 3rd in the £5k BH, 5th in a £400 BH, 4th in a £300 BH & 2nd in a £200 BH. Take a bow ozzie. The rest of last night's FT was mostly as expected, Usual Suspects, although - & I hope he does not take this the wrong way - but what a great effort by @MRAIDERSON to finish 2nd. He did win a Sharpshooter Main earlier this year but really I recall him as a PLO/PLO8 player.
The Mini version fell to @boatrace who I used to know from the "Live" scene although his last two THM entries were in 2021 & 2017. In 3rd & 4th were two familiar aliases in @hhammerhea & @Woebegone
Quite a surprise to see that the £5k BH missed, but the winner was no surprise, @GFKIJKLL who made it a double later in the evening by winning Turbo. Evidence of the strength of the £5k BH field can be seen by the next three home - @Jessieak the all-conquering Major winner @ozzieowen & Pretty Boy @lJAMESl
@Wazzy2332has only been here 6 months & played just 66 MTT's but had already won a Reload, & last night registered his 2nd win, taking the £800 BH.
And what about @MacMonsterwho won 7 @ 7 last night for the 2nd straight night? Fabulous results, well done Ian. But wait, there's more - look who was 2nd - @goldnballz. He actually won 7 @ 7 earlier this week, but he's not in the same league as @MacMonster, & let's face it, lightning rarely strikes twice.
@davtherav got the better of a very strong FT in the Rebuy BH, then made it a double by winning the£1k BH that started 35 minutes later.
Many congrats to @stungar111 who after 43 MTT's in his 6 months here landed his first Featured MTT by winning Mega. I assume his alias is in homage to Stu Ungar, who many consider to be the greatest poker player of all time. Not sure I buy into that, & anyway, personally I find it hard to admire someone who spent most of his life off his head due to substance abuse.
@Chalky666 took the 9 @ 9, & I'm hopeful we'll see him at Brighton later this week, him & his mates polled up last year & certainly livened the place up.
Almost every night @TOPDOG1shows up & 1 tables Reload, & he broke his duck last night in taking top spot.
@miniraise is going along nicely, & after winning a BWBH & a Predator Main within 48 hours last month, won last night's Quickdraw. One to keep an eye on IMO.
The evening's significant proceedings ended with MidEx which fell to @yougomuck for the 2nd time in a fortnight. If we cast our minds back 10 years he won the old Sky Sports BH which was televised on Sky Sports.
We saw the biggest field yet in the Brighton Semi, with @scuba61 winning his 2nd seat, @PRhack93 his first, & young @Super_oli collecting a handy £264 in cash, which might just about cover the @destinycod bar bill at Brighton. For one night.
