A child beauty queen’s death, a botched investigation and decades of mystery: What we know about JonBenét Ramsey’s killing
Editor’s note: This story includes graphic descriptions of violence that some readers may find disturbing.Whoever duct-taped JonBenét Ramsey’s mouth shut, bludgeoned the 6-year-old Colorado girl and strangled the child beauty queen in her own home has evaded capture for almost 28 years.
Now, a new Netflix documentary series reexamines the gruesome December 1996 killing and suggests modern technology might help solve the homicide that has riveted and perplexed the country for decades.
Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey features lengthy interviews with JonBenét’s father and namesake, John Bennett Ramsey, who has lived under a cloud of suspicion despite being formally cleared in 2008.

tbf I think it could have all been done in one episode
The article seems to infer that the investigation has had a breakthrough using genetic genealogy.
I am certainly not a fan of documentaries that leave you none the wiser.
They just seem pointless.
Purely from a logical basis.
It appears that the do have DNA samples.
Therefore it would be possible to get a breakthrough using genetic genealogy.
This tragic story has been done to death, over 28 years.
What is the point of a new documentary, if they are no further forward?
What is the point of inferring that they have had a breakthrough, if they havent?
They apparently do have DNA samples, and plenty of cold cases have been solved using genetic genealogy.
So who knows.
