Today on the way back from work I somehow whilst having a conversation with other people found one individual on the bus having to interject to disagree with me. the topics changed but for some reason I had found someone who I disagreed with on absolutely everything that came up. The argument/arguments got a bit heated and the guy said people should be able to debate and disagree in public i think he may have picked up on me feeling slightly uncomfortable.
The thing is I used to love to debate and argue but I have found some people get very threatening and in some cases even violent. Which is a shame because if I am wrong been educated does not hurt where as if I am right educating the other person is a public good.
Some things may just be personal taste or a matter of opinion other things are just right/wrong one way or another, but is it a shame that in todays modern world people cant speak so freely anymore?
