Women of a certain age denied compensation, confirms new Pensions Secretary Gregg Wallace.
Millions of women of a certain age will not be getting any compensation, according to new Pensions Secretary Gregg Wallace.
The row surrounding the increase of the state pension age continues to rumble, with millions of women born in the 1950s said to be affected by the decision.
“This has nothing to do with getting payback,” said greengrocer-turned-presenter-turned-Work and Pensions Secretary Gregg Wallace.
“Sometimes life isn’t fair. Look at me, I make a couple of jokes about nice buns and everybody loses their mind.
“They’re all moaning about not being given enough warning. No one gave me any warning when I stepped away from MasterChef. Where’s my two-grand in compensation?
“Anyway, that’s enough about pensions. Who wants to see me put a sock over my kn*b?”
The news has angered members of Women Against State Pension Inequality (Waspi), who believe they’re entitled to between £1,000 and £2,950 in compensation.
“Is he really the best person to be making this decision?” said one Waspi member.
“I thought appointing Joey Barton as Minister for Women and Equalities was bad, but this one really takes the biscuit.”
