"I've arrived home from Manchester full of 'flu - Man 'Flu too - so the write-ups this week are a bit thin on content & enthusiasm until I'm back in full working order.
Yikes, what a night we had last night. Overlay galore, no doubt largely down to a great schedule of televised football, including the glamour tie of Man U v Bayern Munich, which turned out to be a real damp squib. Man U were (supposed to be) fighting for their European lives but there was no urgency, fizz or effort at all. Man U had exactly ONE shot on target all game. Very disappointing.
At least Gold Rush Main covered guarantee although it was ~9% down y-o-y, perhaps reflecting that there was no football of interest this day last year.
@wineli (pictured below) took the Main. He rarely misses an SPT but was MIA last weekend for some reason. You'd struggle to find a nicer bloke at a poker table, or any other table come to think of it. Runner-up was our friend @FITBHITF, aka Fire In The Belly, Head In The Freezer. See, I do remember sometimes. Eventually.
The Mini went to @goomba123, that's his 2nd Mini as he won the Avenger version early last year, and just 3 weeks ago he made the FT of Predator Mini.
The thinly-contested Summit went to @richking, who is very low volume but has some great results off an ABI of £37, including wins this year in Marksman Main & a Major. 2nd was @BillyPcklewho has only been here 13 months & played less than 500 MTT's. Is going along nicely though, with notable results including 1st in two Mains, 1st in a UKOPS & 3rd in a Major. 3rd was @Kahuna96 with @NChanning collecting no prize money for 4th in a short field but a handy £200 in Head Prizes.
@DrewettThoich was 3rd in Quickdraw, with the father & son combo of@Limp2Lose & @StayOrGo4th & 6th respectively.
As is often the case, the toughest FT of the evening may well have been Turbo which went to @rspca12 who we saw walking with the aid of a stick at the weekend as he's got a slipped disc. Other Turbo final-tablees included @cabbaz@seikus@AlexaAJ & @Jessieak.
MTT traffic was probably best described as "Monday-ish", generally not too bad but a few spots of overlay totalling £280 spread across Mini, Reload, Turbo & MidEx.
Marksman Main went to @5ausages and that's the 2nd time he's won that, the previous occasion being on Burns Night in January 2021. Almost exactly a year later he won a Summit too. Later last night he ran 2nd in Sheriff to complete a terrific night & make a mockery of his surprisingly modest Sharky rating. Runner-up @4kingboss keeps hitting the woodwork this month, having already made the FT's of 7 @ 7, 9 @ 9 & Rebuy BH. @reeler won his seat in a £1.80 All-In satellite & went on to finish 5th for around £210, & in fact was very close to a FTJ payout as he was 8th in the Mini. @craigcu12 tends to come & go depending on his mood but seems to be doing OK here at the moment, last Thursday he ran 5th in the Main, on Saturday he was 2nd in the Rebuy BH & last night he was 6th in the Main.
@altair12is another who comes & goes & has taken 5 months to play his last 100 MTT's, has plenty of ability though & won last night's Mini. In something of a statistical oddity, his best 5 results were all in £11 entry Bounty Hunters in the ~15 month period between October 2012 & February 2014.
Those who study form will have noticed that @MAXALLYhas been showing decent form of late. Last Friday he won a £150 TBH, on Saturday he was 2nd in a £300 TBH, & it's only a month or so since he ran 2nd for £1,800 in a UKOPS High Roller, denied the win by none other than hotpot @ChipDiddy0. Well he was at it again last night, winning Mega this time, & taking home £324 for his 2nd best result of 2024, having won his seat in a £1.20 All-In sat. If only Stoke City would show a glimpse of such form he'd be a happy bunny, but I fear that's not gonna happen, despite recent & somewhat unlikely comparisons with the mighty Arsenal.
An interesting result in the £800 BH with @mac81 grabbing the win. Joined us in mid July, never showed much form in a couple of dozen attempts in the first few weeks, then disappeared in late July, not returning until last night when he 1-tabled to 1st place.
A month ago today @craigyb22 won 7 @ 7 & he repeated the feat last night. Won the £800 BH in mid-November too.
I do enjoy seeing players who seem to specialise in particular MTT's, & @kc66is a good example, winning last night's Rebuy BH for the 2nd time inside a week & 3rd time in 3 months.
The oddly-aliased @Eeeeeee won 9 @ 9, the first time he's been in the winner's circle since taking down a MidEx in February.
That's it for today. In yesterday's missive I highlighted that West Ham were terrific value to beat Wolves, & so it proved, & I hope a few of you took the hint. Bets that good only come round once or two a season & have to be grabbed with both hands.
Tonight sees the next instalment of Champions League, & includes Liverpool (5.45 kick off) & Villa (8pm kick off). Not sure either will affect online poker traffic, but we shall see. Both those English teams are away & at prices of 2/5 & 6/4 I don't see any value to be had, in fact I'm not even sure both will win. A night to keep the powder dry in the CL, there are probably better betting opportunities in tonight's Champo schedule.

Morning.

There were several super-tough FT's last night, one of which was Sheriff, in which @StayOrGo took the top spot ahead of Main winner @5ausages @loololollo @seikus @Steed432 & @PAPABURG. That was some tough table.
Similar comments might well apply to Turbo where @MikeyW94 prevailed ahead of @Natnug @Fabraclass @winner5603 @Froozle & @PAPABURG.
