A slightly misleading headline, it's worse than that. They are not going to be taxed £2,745 they are going to be taxed an EXTRA £2,745, on top of the existing £2,745. So £5,490 for the first year's 'road tax' (vehicle excise duty) on those cars. Then an additional £410 on top of the normal road tax per annum for 5 years (assuming the car costs over £40,000 when new, which all of those on the list do).

But a new EV? Well they didn't pay anything in the first year but that is to increase as well to a whopping, wait for it,.............£10 per year! So if you buy one of the 3 tonne behemoths that are busy wrecking our road surfaces with their massive weight and instant torque you'll pay 4/5th of f*** all. Doesn't seem fair does it?

But still people aren't buying EVs personally. Yes, companies are, due to the massive tax breaks, but not individuals. Imagine if companies weren't being bribed to buy EVs, I think they would be dead in the water. Progress eh?
