"Numbers continue to fluctuate wildly in the confused run-up to Christmas, UKOPS & the new Year. Not too bad last night, though the Major attracted 6 fewer runners than this day last year.
@mainspring won the Major. Been here since 2019, plays more cash than MTT's, but Tourney results have improved remarkably in last 2 years. Best 3 wins include a UKOPS Mini in 2020, a Sharpshooter Main last month, with last night's Major being some 3 times bigger than either of those two. Almost 16,000 games shown on Sharky but only ~2,000 were MTT's, with the two biggest scores both coming in the last 3 weeks. Definitely one to watch. In 4th was@Steed432 - exactly the same position he finished in the Major exactly one year earlier. Two notable efforts to mention, @GOBILKOGO who won his seat in Saturday's Freeroll & went on to finish 9th for £252, & old @Dewi-coolwho booked his seat via a mid afternoon satellite & ran 16th for £192. You may recall that Dewi won a Summit last month.
@woebegonehas developed into a serial winner, & took the Mini Major. @rabdeniro was playing off a free entry won in the comp run by @coo1-um & managed 9th for £27. Free money tastes so much sweeter.
After running 2nd in Friday's Mini Avenger, @Claytovhad a great score last night in winning the £6k BH. He had some super results here in the period 2011 to 2015.
On Saturday I commented at length on the win by @MacMonster in the 7 @ 7. Well he won it again last night, so that's back-to-back wins for the old soldier.
Talking of our more senior players, @wynne1938 won the Rebuy BH. If I'm not mistaken, he's 85 (?) years old. Good grief, imagine still being able to win poker tourneys in your mid-eighties, though I suppose @HAYSIEdoes so from time to time too. Well done @wynne1938.
@Morris707 is starting to make a habit of winning the 9 & 9 & did so last night for the 2nd time in under 3 weeks.
In Quickdraw, two finalists from the recent SPT Manchester clashed, with @rspca12getting the win & @Blaiseeein 6th.
@UnEuropean won Mega. You may recall he had a great run in 2021, including making the final tables of six £110 events, finishing 1st, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 6th & 6th.
A small but select field contested Sheriff with the win going to @MikeyW94 who I had the pleasure of meeting & chatting with at SPT Manchester. Very interesting & likeable character, big Newcastle fan, with a cherub-like angelic face, and looks very much like a cross between Paul Gascoigne & the shorter one of the Crankies. Has a very odd accent, Norwegian at a guess."
Just a short one today, things to do, places to go, people to see.
MTT traffic was, for the most part, quite good, with the £5k Sharpy Main hitting £5,850, & the Mini doing very nicely too, though there were a few misses which cost a total of £286, of which £190 was from the Turbo.
A very interesting result in the Main which went to @MrCoals1 who despite being here 4 or 5 years had barely played until yesterday, in total just a dozen or so games, several of which were Mains. Played a full session on Tuesday, then went missing until coming on last night & 1 tabling Sharpy Main all the way to 1st place. However, whilst we are delighted for @MrCoals1 spare a thought for Community favourite @JammyFker. He played 4 x £1.80 All-In sats to the Main, won the very last one at 19.59, and ran 2nd in the Main for £570. Then, at the very last minute - almost literally, just after 10pm - he (very) late-regged the Mini & ended up winning it for £258. So that means he collects a whopping £2,500 from the FTJ, which will help make for a lovely Christmas in the Fker household. And if it had not been for @MrCoals1 it may well have been the full £5,000. Wowzers, well done bud. That FTJ is probably his biggest ever win here on Sky Poker. Delighted for him, he seems a really solid bloke.
Was also pleased to see @gez_bear take down Quickdraw. He went missing for a few months in the Summer so it was good to see him return recently. His best result here was winning a Vegas package which was probably around 8 or 10 years ago, & he was great fun to meet & hang with.
@Ricovan has been here a good few years, probably 15 years or so, & his best results were mostly between 2012 to 2015, but it seems he has retained his ability as he took down the £800 BH last night.
A search of the CV of @GEM538 does not throw up any significant wins, or not that I could see, but he had a great night last night, winning 7 @ 7 & then finishing 6th in Mega.
A similar tale for @Onlymessin , as far as I can tell his only Featured MTT trophy was an £800 BH in July, but he's got another win now as he took last night's Rebuy BH.
I'm afraid that's it for today, but I hope some of you take a moment to congratulate @JammyFker who never fails to do exactly that when others win.
EDIT;
Goodness me, if 2nd in Main, 1st in Mini & a £2,500 FTJ bonus was not enough, @JammyFker won £100 in today's December Daily Draw too.
