"Now, turning to last night, we began with the £5,000 UKOPS 01 - obviously - which came in at a reasonable if not great £6,080, & it was @destinycodwho took top spot. He's annoyingly gifted & it's probably just as well for his opponents that he perhaps does not take his poker quite as seriously as some, & seems to play for the sheer fun of it. Ridiculous, eh? His Sky Poker CV also includes wins in the Major, Summit & BWBH. In the Autumn UKOPS two months ago, he won twice - UKOPS 02 High Roller & UKOPS 29 Mini - & you'd need to be brave to bet against him winning again in this Series. In 3rd was@Solack, still doing well despite his advanced years, with 4th, 5th & 6th going to @UnEuropean@loololollo& Paul Gascoigne lookalike @MikeyW94.
Next up was UKOPS 02 High Roller which, annoyingly, missed guarantee by £400. Having said that, last year it missed by £2,800, so there's that. For a long time it looked like@jordz16 might win, & he has a great record in UKOPS biggies, but he faded to a still respectable 5th. The winner was @91kid15 who has been here 7 or 8 years but played less than 100 MTT's. This was his biggest win here to date, with the 2nd biggest being, interestingly, an XMAS UKOPS High Roller win last Christmas. Has made 3 or 4 Sunday Major FT's too, so is clearly handy. The lower podium steps were occupied by@cabbaz & @formosina. In this very event last year @chrisdonkb was 2nd, this time he was 4th. In 6th was @tonyp142 who won Autumn UKOPS 47 two months ago.
The official "Main Event" was UKOPS 03 in which @ozzieowen prevailed. Has 18,000+ MTT's on his Sky Poker CV & this was his 4th best result all-time, though to my surprise, this seems to be his first UKOPS triumph. Has certainly won just about everything else there is to win here. Joined Sky Poker on 1st March 2007, less than a month after the site opened. Runner-up was @arnaldo717 playing just his 5th MTT here this month. Other Ft-ers included usual suspects in the form of @Gambelo@TIMBER@AlexaAJ &@MarcScot.
UKOPS 04 was the Mini, with 1st place going to the personable @bencwho touched off @Tsaaaar in 2nd & SPT regular @wineliin 3rd. In 5th was @ronny707 who showed his versatility by winning the "big" PLO8 affair earlier in the evening.
In the Autumn UKOPS @Shelley7 was a little unfortunate to end up 2nd in a £10,000 event but got some consolation last night by going a spot better in the UKOPS 05 Mega. Runner-up was @daytime1 who has twice won "regular" Megas. Usual Suspects in the shape of @Jscorgie & @TIMBER were 3rd & 4th, & it was especially pleasing to see @tai-garin 5th, even more so as he won his seat in a £1.20 All-In sat.
One of the most impressive stats of the night belongs to Dog Bloke @rspca12 who in winning UKOPS 06 Turbo was winning his TENTH UKOPS event. 2nd was @bakersdozewho also made the FT of the Mini in 6th. UKOPS specialist @Tedson (TWELVE UKOPS titles) was 4th.
The night's finale was Hyper Rebuy BH UKOPS 07, which went to @pooochy who recently took down a MidEx. Runner-up was @UnEuropean making their 2nd FT of the night, having run 4th in the opener. 3rd was @Natnug who earlier in the evening FT bubbled the UKOPS Main. He'll be OK, he's just a few days away from being confirmed as the most profitable MTT player on Sky Poker for the 2nd straight year."
Morning, &, I suppose I should add, I do hope you all have a relaxing & chilled Christmas. Now, back to business.
With the exception of a £126 miss in Reload Xmas Eve MTT traffic was very pleasing. I'm not at all sure what that says about Christmas TV schedules or even Christmas generally. The BBC Highlights seemed to be repeats of old episodes of Wallace & Gromit. Mildly amusing & interesting, but does not exactly set the blood coursing through the veins. Today NetFlix are showing two NFL games, so that's my evening viewing sorted.
A tough Main Event FT with @winner5603 the winner ahead of @Sharki0 & @reeler with @wineli in 6th place. It's at least the 2nd Main Event win for @winner5603 this year as he won a Predator in early May. Runner-up @Sharki0 was close to a 3 day Main Event double as he won Saturday's Sharpshooter.
363 entries for the Mini, one of the biggest fields it's had this year. The winner was @ughx3000cx who is in superb form & has had a wonderful 24 hours - 1st place in MidEx the night before (so technically yesterday), 1st in the Mini, & 1st in a £400 BH. In the last month alone he's won two Minis, a Rebuy BH, a MidEx, a 9 @ 9, a £300 BH & best of all, that £400 BH that runs at 21.30 he's won FIVE times in 4 weeks. Seems to stick to the stakes he can beat & has 45% ROI. Does well at Cash, too. Don't know much about him really but a peruse of his Table Chat suggests he's a proper Gent & does not run his mouth when the going gets tough. Impressive stuff.
Summit came in bang on the Guarantee & it was none other than @NChanning who took top spot & pocketed the best part of £1,150. Tough old FT, as you'd expect, with @newdaddy 2nd & that intriguing newbie @SaulGodman in 3rd, what a week he's had. Super Senior @solack, who seems to do especially well in this, was 6th.
@ILIKE2FISH won the £800 BH & followed up with 2nd in Turbo. I note that in the Sharky 2024 "Count" (number of scheduled games played) he sits in 1st place with 11,481 games which is some 4,000 ahead of 2nd placed @Natnug. He won the 2023 "Count" too, though with 3,000 fewer games. Slightly misleading, as he plays satellites by the dozen most nights, but still impressive.
@Dyceredwon his maiden Featured MTT (7 @ 7), having been here 10 years but played just a couple of hundred MTT's.
Playing for only the 2nd time this month, @green00 won the Rebuy BH & again it was a maiden Featured MTT win, though he's made the FT several times.
Quite a shock in Mega as @cm101 who has been here 6 years & played just a miniscule amount of cash played his first ever MTT - & came 1st. That was the only game he played last night too, so his record reads P1, W1.
@DEZRAY14 took 9 @ 9, not for the first time I might add, & he's won an array of other stuff too including 7 @ 7 half a dozen times.
Reload saw yet another first-time winner as @Dan2022 who has been here 2 years on & off broke his MTT duck at the 118th attempt. He ran 2nd in a £250 BH a day earlier so the signs were there.
Playing MTT's for the first time since the 29th of last month, @Lewis274 won the Turbo.
A good session for @CABBAGE130 who ran 9th in the Main then won Quickdraw. Has won Quickdraw several times, Sheriff too.
@Peter_Ktook MidEx, just 2 days after winning a 00.30 £300 BH, clearly a player who does best in late night stuff.
In the UKOPS Rewards Freeroll seat winners included @LARSON7 & @Duesenberg the latter of whom likes to make out he does not enjoy MTT's. Despite that he has a lovely MTT CV which includes 1st place for over £5,000 in a £220 entry UKOPS High Roller. I fancy he doth protest too much.
That's it, off to enjoy my Christmas dinner now. I've moved on from Fray Bentos Steak & Kidney pies to these absolute beauties. Hard to imagine a better Christmas treat than these.
