"Quite interesting how MTT numbers mirror the previous year. Last year's UKOPS Day 4 saw 6 of the 7 events cover, & it was rinse repeat last night.
The opener, an £8,000 BH that came in at £8,970, went to @Limp2Lose. He's had a very decent December here, in addition to last night's win he took down a Predator BH 3 weeks ago, been 2nd in BWBH, & made no less than 5 Quickdraw FT's, finishing 1st, 2nd, 4th, 4th & 5th. It's been 6 months almost to the day since @LHF played an MTT here, but they showed up last night & single-tabled all the way to 2nd place & £1,002. In 3rd was @SoLack, he was also 3rd in the High Roller & won a seat to the Main via a £3 All-In satellite. On Day 1 he was 3rd in the UKOPS 01 Rebuy, so that's quite a record - he made three FT's, finishing 3rd each time.
@newdaddy took down the High Roller. Pretty much only plays £100 & £200 events here these days, so played just 7 MTT's this series, of which 6 were £110 or £220 entry. He has THE most amazing record in the Sunday Major, having made the FT no less than 18 times but has yet to win it. (2nd 6 times, 3rd 5 times, 4th twice, 5th 5 times). No surprises in 2nd or 3rd, which went to @cabbaz &@SoLack respectively. @GoldNug22won his seat in a £48 satellite & turned it into a 4th place finish worth £1,580. He won a High Roller in the Autumn UKOPS you may recall. @Morris707 was missing the first 3 nights but showed up last night & did very nicely, 5th in this, 4th in the Mini, & away from UKOPS was 2nd in 9 @ 9 & 3rd in a £500 Mega.
The £30,000 UKOPS Main fell to @winn10 & it may not be a name you snap recognize, but it was his third (& far & away biggest) UKOPS title. Does not play cash but has a ridic ROI in MTT's. The rest of the FT were all familiar faces, with @bromley04 having a terrific result in 2nd, followed by @roddy28@alancarr12@KOBAYASHI & @Sharki0. What a UKOPS @roddy28has had, 2 wins, a 2nd & a 3rd, those 4 results being worth some ~£5,500. Very few can better that.
@Super_Oli took the Mini to secure his 2nd UKOPS title, the first being a High Roller 3 years ago. Palace Bloke @cpfc_2010 was runner-up & his team won 3-1 so he was a happy bunny. It's good to see @peter27 back on the site after an absence of a few months, & he made two UKOPS FT's, this, & UKOPS 19, finishing 6th in both. @Morris707, 5th in the High Roller, went one spot better here.
UKOPS 24 Mega was won by @bakersdoze, and it was his 4th FT of the series, finishing 2nd, 5th & 6th in the other three. 2nd was @Thoich who later went on to run 4th in the Hyper. @bar4004 who won a £1k BH earlier this week was 5th.
There was a very predictable result in UKOPS 25 Turbo, with @seikus getting home ahead of@Steed432 & @AlexaAJ. @pooochy who won the Day 1 Hyper was 4th with the Day 1 High Roller winner @91kid15 in 5th.
Similar story in the closing UKOPS 26 Hyper, which went to @rspca12. It was his 2nd win of the Series, as he won UKOPS 06 on Day 1 too. UKOPS 25 winner @seikus was 2nd this time. 3rd was @Nutter5932who I notice is now mainly playing Heads Up Speeds & Turbos, & doing very well by the look of it. He has one of the best looking Sharky graphs on the site & has won serious money here down the years. 4th was @Thoich with another FT for @Upswing in 5th. In 6th was @natnug, who tonight will officially be crowned as "Most Profitable Sky Poker MTT-er of the year", meaning he's won that title two years running.
That's about it for now.
It also marks the last daily write-up of 2023. Thanks for reading, & Happy New Year to you all."
A better night all round last night. And before we get started, there was some comment yesterday - here & elsewhere - about the decision to start UKOPS on Boxing Day. I've spent a few moments explaining the thinking in answer to that on yesterday's thread, here...
Anyway, back to last night, when 4 of the 6 Events covered OK, so just 2 misses. That's about par for the course for Day 2 of Xmas UKOPS.
One of those 2 was the Main in which @MRAIDERSON took the top spot. He's not on Sharky, so I don't have a great deal of data on him, but I do know he joined us way back in 2007. We don't see a great deal of him these days but if anything his results have improved, he won a Sharpshooter in February, was 2nd in a Sunday Major last month & made the Marksman Main FT just before Christmas. Runner-up @loosecamel really seems to be doing well these days in MTT's, & his three biggest scores have all come in the last 7 weeks - he won the Sunday Major earlier this month, 2nd in last night's Main & 2nd in a Rebuy in the (November) Autumn UKOPS. 3rd was @DunkinFish who was 4th in Tuesday's Summit. 4th was @Limp2Lose and there was another FT (5th) for @TIMBER who seems to be doing well of late. I'm rather hoping I may bump into him later today in the £220 at DTD. (Preferably to my right). The much-maligned @HAYSIE was 6th, so he's now made the FT of the Main on both Day 1 & Day 2.
Fresh from winning the Christmas Day Reload, the Mini went to @Juggler18 with young @Swifteyyeuin 2nd place. @Swifteyyeu is no stranger to UKOPS FT's as his biggest 3 cashes were all in UKOPS events - 1st (for over £4,000) in a 2023 Autumn UKOPS Main, 2nd in a UKOPS Main last month & 6th in a UKOPS High Roller, also last month.
Rather oddly, & despite the wonderfully enjoyable time I spent at Sky Poker TV, I've never been a fan of watching NLH poker, it just does not do much for me, but I'd loved to have watched the Heads Up last night in UKOPS 08, when @destinycod got the better of his tussle with @Tedson. In any debate about the best MTT-ers on Sky Poker, those two would both make the shortlist, & both are proper blokes who can handle a bit of adversity without blinking. Very fine performances too in 3rd & 4tth from @MikeyW94 & @MARK277
Much better known as one of the best PLO8 players on the site, @catsnap took the NLH UKOPS 11, & in fact that's not their first UKOPS title as they also won a UKOPS Rebuy in the Easter UKOPS this year. 2nd was @dogdoodoo who seems to have improved beyond recognition in recent weeks, having won an Avenger Main earlier this month. 3rd was @BIGSHANN who was a major force in the early days of Sky Poker & used to come along to the SPT's. Was a decent FT actually, with @PKRPar & @Tedson 4th & 5th respectively.
Next up was UKOPS 12 & perhaps fittingly it went to @Natnug who will officially be crowned "Most Profitable MTT-er on Sky Poker in 2024" in a few days time.
Day 2 concluded with another win for @lwwl who won the Christmas Day Main & was 3rd in UKOPS 06 the very next day. 4th was @aynaricol who had her best ever result on Sky Poker three years ago tomorrow, when she won a UKOPS Mini.
That's it for today, sorry it's a bit rushed but I've got time-issues.
