This day last year
"For those interested in mild curiosities, it was very much a "B" night, with wins in the featured MTT's going to @bigfatfish (twice) @bambus @Baboon26 @boatrace @bronx @ben2002 @Barney61 & @Bnmates. The odds on that must be bastronomical.
The £5,000 Main was a little thin on numbers, though it did just about cover guarantee. @Baboon26 was the winner & that's a cracking result for our primate friend. Been here 5 years, plays a bit of everything, and has had some solid MTT scores, including 1st & 2nd in UKOPS, plus 3rd & 5th in Sunday Majors. Amazingly, has never won a regular Main until last night, but has been 2nd 3 times (Sharpy, Hitman & Avenger) as well as 3rd in Gold Rush. So with that Main event win, the monkey's off his back, so to speak. 2nd was @heellloooo who had one unsuccessful £7.20 attempt to satellite in, paid in anyway & went home with £533. 3rd was @MikeyW94 who had a lovely session, as he followed up with 6th in Sheriff then 1st in Quickdraw. Annoyingly, the annoying @HAYSIE annoyed his way into an annoying 4th place.
In the Mini, @boatrace (rhyming slang for "face") took their first ever featured MTT win. There was a surprise runner-up in @madprof, not because he's not good enough, but because we don't see much of him these days. Hopefully that will change now. HNY Prof.
The new £11 entry £500 BH covered again (not by much, but enough...) and for the 2nd straight night it had a high quality FT, with @bigfatfish getting the win. It was the first of 3 wins he had, as he also took Turbo and a £300 BH. In addition, he was 2nd in MidEx, & 2nd in a £300 BH, so in all, 3 wins & two 2nds. No wonder he's a fat fish.
Sheriff, which has reverted to 5 nights a week now, made it's Wednesday re-appearance & was rewarded with a £1,250 prize pool and @bronx getting the win. He done well, as he was followed home by the likes of @Drewett @destinycod @PokaBayb9 @Thoich & @MikeyW94.
9 @ 9 went to @loololollo who has started 2024 well, as he was 2nd in the Main the previous night, having been AWOL on New Years Day. @THETANK was 2nd, then @Nostri & @FeelGroggy.
@Sheila1960 returned to the featured winner's circle for the first time since winning a £400 BH in late 2022.
@MikeyW94 took Quickdraw, with @Thoich 2nd. The real eyebrow-raiser here was @River_Fox who made the Quickdraw FT for the 3rd straight night, finishing 2nd, 6th & last night 3rd. In addition, in the last few days they won UKOPS 19, was 5th in Midex & took down a small Timed early this morning. A remarkable improvement in form, long may it last.

Sky Poker held all the usual Guarantees last night, a decision which puzzled & surprised many, but when I discussed it with The Boss yesterday he said that he'd looked back at previous NYE's & site traffic was always very good so he's made the decision to leave Guarantees "as is". And so it proved, with reasonable numbers for the most part. Bit of a miss in Summit & Reload but just flesh wounds really.
Just a reminder that these days when one of our regular big-hitters wins I don't always mention them or go into depth, as they win scores of times every year & there's not much left to say. Those who win less often, or even for the first time, of course, will always be included. So today's write up may take some time, as lots of relative strangers took wins last night.
One other thing before I get started, Sharky may have had a wobble last night, several results are missing, maybe something to do with the year-end. Certainly MidEx, which did run, is missing, Quickdraw is missing too but I'm not entirely sure it ran last night.
Starting with the £5k Main @Mazzybabe came out on top. Been here less than 2 years but only played 240 MTT's. However, something of an oddity in that 3 of the 4 biggest scores have come in the last 10 days - 3rd in the Sunday Major, 2nd in Avenger Main & 1st in last night's Gold Rush Main. Seems to confine his play to Mains & £100ers, & I fancy he's probably very decent. The consistent @ughx3000cx was 2nd, & later on he ran 2nd in 9 @ 9 too. In 3rd place was @91kid15 who enjoys a sky-high Sharky rating & has a CV which includes 1st place in a UKOPS High Roller.
Despite winning Reload several times I don't think @bronte_5 has ever risen to the wuthering heights of a Mini win previously but that was the case last night. Doubt it was an easy win either as runner-up was @Alvez11 who is one of the biggest winners on the site, mainly a cash player but does OK in MTT's too & amongst much else won a Major last year. Arsenal fan too, so a man of excellent judgement imo.
@newdaddy has one of the highest Sharky ratings on the site (97) & was 2nd in the UKOPS Main on Sunday, but could not quite get the better of @Iguana who slithered past him into 1st place in last night's Summit. Almost certain that that's a PB for @Iguana. Incidentally, @newdaddy has now been 2nd in Summit 2 weeks on the Spin, in between which he was 2nd in the UKOPS Main. He netted ~£4,500 for those 3 results, so I don't think we need to spare him too much sympathy, lovely fella though he is.
@EJB02 is a serial winner of Reload but by way of a change he played the £800 BH last night & it worked out nicely with a fine win, with @evju 2nd & @HONEYBUSH 3rd.
7 @ 7 went to @beaky but as he's excused himself from Sharky I'll respect his clear desire to fly under the radar. 2nd was @slipwater who it was great to see re-engage with the Forum recently, sadly it seems he's slipped away again.
@mazblyth has a good record in the Rebuy BH & enhanced it with another win last night. @python68 was near the top of his asp-irations in 2nd with @Jeni82 in 4th.
Despite being here over 18 months the splendidly-named @burrgrylls has only played 13 MTT's & zero cash but it was 13th time lucky as he came out on top in 9 @ 9.
@yacca is an infrequent MTT-er, just 8 MTT's in the last 2 months, all of which were Reloads, & his persistence was rewarded with 1st place last night.
@Cei90 1-tabled to 1st place in Turbo. Rarely plays more than 2 MTT's a night, despite which he won a £5k BH last Autumn. I suspect he's probably better than the bare results suggest.
MidEx, which is not on Sharky (yet?) went to @mp561030 who has been notching up some solid results recently, including 6th in Monday's Main & some deep runs in the Xmas UKOPS.
@weecheez1 won the PLO8, God bless Cheesy, & amongst the Sunday Major Freeroll seat winners was @glencoelad who is just back from a holiday in the sun.
